Because I saw their relationship grow into something so sweet and caring and they always seem to have so much fun together! They reminded me of myself and my hubby when we first met! I also think they are both such down to earth people who truly care about others not to mention all the wonderful talent they both have!! Derek's AWESOME talent is what made me watch season 6 of DWTS but I am soooo glad I did!!~curls4derek

The main reason I’m a Shannon/Derek shipper is because of the sweetness of their relationship. They are so genuine in their feelings for each other that every time I see them in pictures or video, it just touches my heart and makes me smile.~isis1948

Shannon and Derek are such a great couple because they seem to have so much fun together and love life as well as each other. They put each other first and are very supportive of one another. I think they just "get" each other.~roygbib

Their chemistry was undeniable . . . and as they were bashed by the DWTS judges & shown in a negative light by the producers, we began to root for them. They manage to maintain their relationship while juggling busy, demanding careers, but the love & support they have for one another remains constant. Obviously, we don't know them, but it's fun to keep track of them as a couple & to follow their individual endeavors. Who knew that in addition to dancing we'd be following poker & BHB? They have captured our hearts . . . wishing all good things for Shannon & Derek in the future!~dancefan47

I think the main reason I ship Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth is they seem like real people, who found eachother doing the crazy show of Dancing With The Stars. Shannon is an amazing person, and a hero to me, she's given so much to be with Derek, and Derek is such a sweet guy, and Shannon truly brings out the best in him. I wish them nothing but the best, and congratulations to us shippers for 50 threads, and our lovely couple for proving all their haters wrong, and making it a year, heres for many more to come!~Diana (Princess.Diana)

I love Shannon and Derek because of their genuine care for each other. A perfect example of this is the VW rehearsals. Derek had hurt his neck while rehearsing with Julianne for a result show performance. Shannon was so concerned for him and felt like he wasn’t following the doctors orders. She even said that she would drop out of the competition so he could heal properly. I thought that was one of the sweetest things ever. Even to this day, they continue to not only show their care for each other, but also their support, commitment, and love for one another. It’s been a joy to follow their relationship and watch them grow as a couple, and I wish them the best of luck in the future.~gabegirl45

Thank you Linus for starting a new thread. I am cautiously optimistic about S/D.
I am sorry that a simple night out with each other has turned into such drama because they went to a Gay bar to celebrate with BB. They really did not need that. I hope it doesn't become stressful for them. It would be a real shame if they quit going out with each other because of it.
I will say that the people that talked (ratted) to the Paps that were in the bar have no reason to make up the story that they dancing and kissing with each other so I would like to believe that they are slowly giving each other a chance again. The comments after the Perez story are just awful. Thank goodness there is NO validity to Perez.

Good morning all! You're welcome, re the new thread.

Quite an evening of posts last night. I hope with all the press on their recent night out that it won't deter them from going out in public again. Shannon was so quick to nip the reunion rumors in the bud that I am a little worried about that happening. I was hoping she might show up at the DWTS premiere, as a supportive friend, but now she might not.

I too am cautiously optimistic, but they're both going to be so busy the next few months that we can only hope for a lot of sweet tweets. I guess going from "remaining friends" to "we're best friends" is a positive sign.

BTW, I added all of us shippers as the August shipper of the month....great suggestion!

Linus - I had that very same thought. Not only the press but random people tweeting to them doesn't help either. I hope they don't start hiding out while hanging out.

What is everyone's take on Harry and Sam?....are they still in BHB??? Sam doesn't seem to be in any hurry to get back, and with a BHB performance on week 5, you'd think he'd be back soon to rehearse. Harry tweeted about playing with a new band, what's up with that?

Isis and Linus My thoughts exactly on the random tweets as soon as I saw them. May put them more underground but also may not. I think Shannon will be at the DWTS show on the second night when the women dance to support Derek. She was a celeb on the show & both D&S have said they are close friends.

BHB is a mystery to me, that's for sure.

Agree that Sam seems to have settled in on the other side of the ocean. Don't have a clue what his plans are regarding the band. Harry did tweet to someone that that he was still with BHB. So he must be just playing with other bands until BHB starts performing again - whenever that will be.

You said what I was thinking too about all the press and tweets keeping them from going out in public again. We are still on that up and down ride! I'll stay positive!

Soxfan, I hope you are right that Shannon would want to be at the DWTS premiere. But who knows. I think their date night kind of backfired on them. The gay media (and that vicious blogger Perez Hilton) is spinning it one way, that Derek is trying too hard to convince people he is not gay, and the non-gay media is calling it a reunion. They can't seem to win in the public eye right now. So they may indeed go underground for a while.

I must say, D going with Shannon to the 2nd BB party was not a good idea. But, he must have really wanted to be with her that night to put up with all the fallout which I'm sure he had to have known would happen. Good that his recent, upbeat tweets have not reflected any worry over it.

I see that the last tweet to Derek is asking about him and Shannon. I wonder if he will answer like Shannon did?.... I hope not. I wonder why Shannon felt she had to answer that question too.

The original article was posted by Radar but unfortunately picked up by Perez. All of the other bloggers just copy and paste Perez to get a click to their site. I am still trying to figure out what is the hoopla about .. That they went out together or that they went to a gay bar.?
Why was the party there anyway? I don't know a thing about BB. Is there a lot of cast members that are gay?

I really hope they just continue to do what they want to do and don't worry about the press but unfortunately I have a feeling that they will just lay low. I don't expect to see Shannon at the DWTS premier either.
