Last spring, we watched as their partnership on the popular reality television show Dancing With The Stars turned into an off-camera romance. A year later and they're still going strong. Because I saw their relationship grow into something so sweet and caring and they always seem to have so much fun together! They reminded me of myself and my hubby when we first met! I also think they are both such down to earth people who truly care about others not to mention all the wonderful talent they both have!! Shannon and Derek are such a great couple because they seem to have so much fun together and love life as well as each other. They put each other first and are very supportive of one another. I think they just "get" each other.~roygbib

Their chemistry was undeniable . . . and as they were bashed by the DWTS judges & shown in a negative light by the producers, we began to root for them. They manage to maintain their relationship while juggling busy, demanding careers, but the love & support they have for one another remains constant. Obviously, we don't know them, but it's fun to keep track of them as a couple & to follow their individual endeavors. Who knew that in addition to dancing we'd be following poker & BHB? I think the main reason I ship Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth is they seem like real people, who found eachother doing the crazy show of Dancing With The Stars. Shannon is an amazing person, and a hero to me, she's given so much to be with Derek, and Derek is such a sweet guy, and Shannon truly brings out the best in him. I love Shannon and Derek because of their genuine care for each other. A perfect example of this is the VW rehearsals. Derek had hurt his neck while rehearsing with Julianne for a result show performance. Shannon was so concerned for him and felt like he wasn’t following the doctors orders. She even said that she would drop out of the competition so he could heal properly. I thought that was one of the sweetest things ever. Even to this day, they continue to not only show their care for each other, but also their support, commitment, and love for one another. It’s been a joy to follow their relationship and watch them grow as a couple, and I wish them the best of luck in the future.~gabegirl45

Georgie, that vid was from a few weeks back, before their movie night, etc. Of course he is going to say he is single and dating, what else can he say? I noticed his neck was stiff as he spoke and when he got in his car....I don't think he was at all happy that night.

How do you know that it was from a few weeks ago? Did I miss something?

It's from the DWTS cast party, when he was impatient with the valet service. Remember he hurt his neck at the beginning of rehearsals and you can tell it is stiff, especially when he gets in his car....he is in pain.

I saw that they posted this on Pure Hough. I still have not seen the D/S banner on that site. pssft. it doesn't matter but I just noticed that's all.

I've noticed that often vids are taken & not posted near the date they were taken Why this is so I'm not sure but may have to do with the number of vids they have.
I also wish Derek would tweet Happy Birthday to Shannon publicly& maybe he will, but I'm sure they have been on the phone with each other which is more important than public wishes

It must be a slow news day to post that old vid now. But he is definitely wearing the same clothes as that night, etc.

I'm sure D must have called or texted birthday wishes to Shannon. But it sounds like he was out late last night, so I hope he didn't forget.....he may even still be asleep...it's 1 pm here.

He posted 2 hours ago about changing his profile picture. I remember he had another one up first which was cute then he put up the current one.
I was hoping that Shannon would post some NY pictures today but she does have all week. LOL

No, he's up Linus - he tweeted with a question asking how to change his picture on Twitter. Someone replied that he must have changed it once b/c Shannon set up his account to begin with & had a great picture. Glad he's finally going to change it. Now if he can only figure out how to do it. I'm thinking he'll be on the phone with Shannon. How could he forget? He sees all the tweets she gets so even if he had major memory loss, the tweets should remind him.

Very good question. I guess to see all of the responses? Who knows. I wonder if JD is still in town or does he have to get back to LA.He could take a red eye flight maybe? He has not tweeted at all and either has monarchy.
I would love if Shannon tweeted some pictures. She is so modest...has not mentioned that it is her birthday.
