Last spring, we watched as their partnership on the popular reality television show Dancing With The Stars turned into an off-camera romance. A year later and they're still going strong. Because I saw their relationship grow into something so sweet and caring and they always seem to have so much fun together! They reminded me of myself and my hubby when we first met! I also think they are both such down to earth people who truly care about others not to mention all the wonderful talent they both have!! Derek's AWESOME talent is what made me watch season 6 of DWTS but I am soooo glad I did!!~curls4derek

Shannon and Derek are such a great couple because they seem to have so much fun together and love life as well as each other. They put each other first and are very supportive of one another. I think they just "get" each other.~roygbib

Their chemistry was undeniable . . . and as they were bashed by the DWTS judges & shown in a negative light by the producers, we began to root for them. They manage to maintain their relationship while juggling busy, demanding careers, but the love & support they have for one another remains constant. Obviously, we don't know them, but it's fun to keep track of them as a couple & to follow their individual endeavors. Who knew that in addition to dancing we'd be following poker & BHB? I think the main reason I ship Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth is they seem like real people, who found eachother doing the crazy show of Dancing With The Stars. Shannon is an amazing person, and a hero to me, she's given so much to be with Derek, and Derek is such a sweet guy, and Shannon truly brings out the best in him. I love Shannon and Derek because of their genuine care for each other. A perfect example of this is the VW rehearsals. Derek had hurt his neck while rehearsing with Julianne for a result show performance. Shannon was so concerned for him and felt like he wasn’t following the doctors orders. She even said that she would drop out of the competition so he could heal properly. I thought that was one of the sweetest things ever. Even to this day, they continue to not only show their care for each other, but also their support, commitment, and love for one another. It’s been a joy to follow their relationship and watch them grow as a couple, and I wish them the best of luck in the future.~gabegirl45

I found this link of the M/MJH rehearsal. They look pretty good for this early. I think she's a contender. 'DWTS' champ hopes for a repeat - omg! videos on Yahoo!

Thanks everyone. Would like to add a pic of Derek to the OP, maybe the one from his hot photo shoot (white shirt, open, standing btwn trains). Does anyone know how to download that pic?

I agree, it's frustrating when Derek or Joanna doesn't tweet about rehearsals....and so annoying when Mark and MJH are doing it everyday!

oh that picture. I guess I am the only one that didn't like it. Just doesn't seem like Derek to me but that is just me. Actually if you think about each season there usually is not to much info given about Derek and practices. I think they or he likes the surprise factor. Of course this is the first year we have twitter. It can go either way on that too. To much and it becomes annoying. IMO.

Well, there weren't many pics to choose from. If he had his sunglasses off in any of the skateboarding pics I would have used it. Anyway, Derek likes the pic or else he wouldn't have posted it, so that is reason enough for me.

I'm just so glad I finally joined this forum, instead of still lurking! And, I really wish Derek would tweet something! Hope all is well with him!

I know, I even sent him a tweet asking where he is...but no reply. I guess he's just not a talker/tweeter. He was just getting into Twitter towards the end of last season and didn't tweet much about Lil Kim either. Wonder if the other couples are tweeting much or if it's just M/MJH. I was following MJH, but she tweets too much and I got tired of reading her stuff.

LInus - They had to have seen the movie together, right? Here's hoping! I'm not sure whether I want WENN to have pix of them or not. I'd love to see them together in the same shot, but feeling particularly protective of their privacy at the moment so kinda hope they had some peace.

Danzfan - I agree with your thoughts re: the ring... surely it means something, if nothing more than She's thinking of him. It was nice to see it back on in the football pix.

Trying to fight this cold will not let me sleep, however this link to pic up on WENN put a smile on my face. I think in a couple Derek might be mad at having pic taken but I think in all the pic I can tell that they are very comfortable with one another. Derek looks Yummy & Shannon is lovely as always.

That is the first real smile I have seen out of Derek in weeks. In a few of the pictures D does look annoyed with the photographer. and Shannon looks concerned in one. I wonder what they were asking? I am glad they can get together...and she is wearing The Ring.
