Because I saw their relationship grow into something so sweet and caring and they always seem to have so much fun together! They reminded me of myself and my hubby when we first met! I also think they are both such down to earth people who truly care about others not to mention all the wonderful talent they both have!! Shannon and Derek are such a great couple because they seem to have so much fun together and love life as well as each other. They put each other first and are very supportive of one another. I think they just "get" each other.~roygbib

Their chemistry was undeniable . . . and as they were bashed by the DWTS judges & shown in a negative light by the producers, we began to root for them. They manage to maintain their relationship while juggling busy, demanding careers, but the love & support they have for one another remains constant. Obviously, we don't know them, but it's fun to keep track of them as a couple & to follow their individual endeavors. Who knew that in addition to dancing we'd be following poker & BHB? I think the main reason I ship Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth is they seem like real people, who found eachother doing the crazy show of Dancing With The Stars. Shannon is an amazing person, and a hero to me, she's given so much to be with Derek, and Derek is such a sweet guy, and Shannon truly brings out the best in him. I love Shannon and Derek because of their genuine care for each other. A perfect example of this is the VW rehearsals. Derek had hurt his neck while rehearsing with Julianne for a result show performance. Shannon was so concerned for him and felt like he wasn’t following the doctors orders. She even said that she would drop out of the competition so he could heal properly. I thought that was one of the sweetest things ever. Even to this day, they continue to not only show their care for each other, but also their support, commitment, and love for one another. It’s been a joy to follow their relationship and watch them grow as a couple, and I wish them the best of luck in the future.~gabegirl45

Lol...thanks, Isis. I had to come up with something & that one made a whole lot of sense....plus a little humor could never hurt

Too bad about the movie....I thought it was odd that Shannon hadn't mentioned doing a new film, then again you can't believe everything you see online....IMDB & Wikipedia can be updated by anyone, so the accuracy there is always questionable. I'm sure she has some other projects in the works....she did talk about discussing one via conference call the other day.

Curls....thanks! Yeah, I'm confused a bit too by that video interview.....seems they re-edited it to make it purposely misleading. Not surprising coming from "E" Does anyone know when they conducted the interview? I thought I had seen the original too.....but I don't remember now.

jmo.. they had to end this relationship long ago to look that comfortable with each other in these pics...i love shannon but lets remember how emotional she was on DWTS...so im sure tears were shed...but i cant help to think theres more to this story and im glad we all want to see it to the end together...just like girlfriends do......

Thanks Curls for letting us know about another interview that pure Hough managed to find.

I don't know what to think about the interview on E because I did not see it the original. I do know what I feel....
I feel that I don't want to see another interview from Derek that he gave the day before he and Shannon announced their break up. I can't imagine why Pure Hough feels the need to post another interview.
I can say this ... I have been searching for Shannon and Derek stuff for a year and half. In that search i have tried to find info on Joe and Shannon too. Whatever you think about the relationship of joe and Shannon I find it amazing that after more than 10 years together you will NOT find anything written or any interview given where they talk about the relationship or break up ...The only thing I have EVER read is that Shannon said "Joe was my friend and just because we couldn't make it married he will always be my friend". I really think that Derek needs to be prepared for the questions and have his soundbite ready to repeat over and over again.
How about.. Shannon is a great gal and we will always be great friends.
I am not dissing on Derek ...I just don't want the press to have any opportunity to take anything said and turn it into more than it is. I know that Shannon will never say a word about Derek ever because she has never said a thing about Joe and people STILL ask her if Punked was the reason and she does not answer.

Me again ... I just wanted to clear up a few things:

Someone asked how long I have been visiting this board and the answer is since the beginning.

I never said anyone was being harsh so please don't put words in my mouth.

Concerning their break up I don't care when you move on or even if you do, I was talking about moving on from certain topics.

Blame was the wrong word I guess, instead I will call it speculation.

Yes there has been speculation and it is mostly about Derek not being able to care for himself, he used Shannon who was the breadwinner, Shannon's emotions weren't as strong as Derek's, Derek gets drunk to much and shouldn't be hanging at the playboy house, etc.

I have never been rude in a post here and have never meant to be rude so if it came across like that sorry. Feel free to talk and speculate, I am right there with you, but do you really think talking about every bad thing that might have happened to our couple is going to help with your sadness or anger?

Funny thing is I had a dream Thursday night that S&D had gotten secretly married and S was pregnant! So much for my intuition!

What nana said! Something isn't right here...everything seems a little fishy to me. Especially when she is still fawning over the cookbook!

The title is perfect! Thanks for starting the thread Carmen. I'm sitting at the hospital right now. My brother's been having multiple surgeries on his arm the last six months, and has to go in for another next week so he's stuck in here for a while! He has diseased tissue in his arm. But he is such a trooper!

EDIT: Danzfan saw your post. Yeah we talk. It's awesome. I don't know if cause she thinks I am absolutely brilliant and do these things for her and Derek (ex.cookbook, anniversary tribute, etc.) or just cause I sem to be on at the right time? LOL!
