I get why you're pessimistic. When Stefan opened up to Damon about his baby and told Caroline off screen I started to think that the writers DGAF about Steroline and with the non stop Defan we've been getting my suspicions seem confirmed. So I'm not watching after 7x15 when Candice is on maternity leave. And I have always enjoyed Defan but now it's overkill and there's nothing to look forward to. This show is just boring and badly written.

It broke my heart too and I think it was deliberate that we saw her text Stefan and call out his name. I don't think he did anything particularly wrong in this episode with regards to Caroline. But I do think that was foreshadowing that he can't be there for her the way she needs him to because they are breaking up after all.

I completely agree with everything you've just said!

I think we are just all disappointed, because we expected this season to be different. Wasn't there one of the writers/producers who told us before the season that SC would be the "heart and the core of this season"?

About Caroline's last scene in the hospital: I guess it was an intentional manipulation by the writers, so that we would be angry at Stefan. So you're right, he was just trying to help everyone and be the hero again. It just seems that the writers have forgotten about SC.

Do we know which episode will be Candice's last one before the maternity leave? I guess 7x15, right? This is probably also the episode where SC break up.

I don't know if the synopsis for 7x13, 7x14 and 7x15 have been posted here before, if so, then I'm sorry.

I'm ignoring all the interviews immediately after season 6 because that was before they found out Candice was pregnant and wrote that in. Also that was probably when the network told them they want Supernatural 2.0. Paul and Ian seem to be the only ones promoting this show lately. Everyone else seems to have checked out and I don't blame them. They've been replaced by guest stars.

Also it's hilariously dumb how these writers keep on shoving Enzo into storylines. From Sarah Salvatore to Lily to the huntress They really don't know what to do with him.

I'm so bored of this show I could have sworn I read that SC have a phone convo in the 7x15 synopsis yesterday I don't even think they'll have a break up convo. I feel like Stefan will just disappear hence the 'hate' in the ffwds. But the most logical explanation is that the ffwds are Stefan's hell which means they might not even break up at all

I dont see why people are talking about Stefan choosing Damon and jeopardizing his relationship when it hasn't even happened yet. Can we not discuss spoilers in here or can you guys use tags at least?

but honestly i dont think stefan needing damon or seeing him as his #1 is a problem. its his brother. my sister is my number 1 and i would choose her over anyone hands down.

i get its frustrating when you are rooting for a pairing but i really dont feel that s/c is "doomed".

Maybe, I'm still crazy for still holding onto this theory, but I don't really think anything after 7x09 is real. I know this show has awful writing, but the characters are just all over the place. It's a pretty big risk to make most of the season a hell dimension, but I guess that could be the shock. Plus, it gives the writers an out for Candice. She can be gone for several episodes and it won't really matter, because none of what we've seen is real anyways. So, they can just restart in season 8. If they get a season 8.

We're already seeing hints in canon in episodes that have aired. They wouldn't have made such a big deal of Stefan taking weeks to reveal what happened in his hell or spent a whole episode on Stefan reliving how he hallucinated Damon trying to hurt Caroline and this leading him to think that having Damon is his life will lead to his unhappiness. It's all there for a reason and has to lead to something. I mean he almost burned Damon's body That's a big deal. Of course these writers could drop it but considering how much screentime time Defan get I doubt they'd throw in random stuff for no reason. They must have a longer arc in mind.

It's not about loving Damon. It's about the decisions he makes regarding Damon. I know all the terrible things the characters have done makes the season 3 Rippah phase seem like no big deal now. But at the time Stefan was slowly weaning himself off an animal diet because he was terrified of his bloodlust. The guilt from his vampire crimes almost made him commit suicide in season 1. So becoming a Rippah and choosing to go through that kind of guilt again was a huge deal. When you love someone enough to do things that will make you hate yourself then it's unhealthy and abnormal.

I don't think SC is doomed yet. I have hope otherwise I wouldn't be here but I do think things could have been handled better.

I am really confused by the FF, too. But I honestly cannot imagine that they might be fake. I don't think the writers would dare going there.

I honestly have no idea if SC is "doomed" or not. After S6 I was convinced that they were setting the two up as the "second endgame couple" next to Delena. And at the beginning of S7 with all the negative FFs I really thought that they were just creating all this SC drama in order to have the audience root for them even more. But then again, SC has been neglected ever since and my two possible explanations for this are that either the writers simply don't care about them anymore or that the writers have absolutely no idea where they are going with their storylines and where they want to go with SC.

Right now I am actually looking forward to the next episode, because I guess Caroline will give birth to the twins, and I am hoping for some cute Caroline/Stefan/babies interaction. This would probably make my heart melt
But knowing the writers and our luck, we probably won't have a scene like this or the Caroline/Stefan/babies interaction will happen off-screen

I was convinced they were fake after 7x10 when we actually saw how the personal hell thing worked. I thought it was weird that the supernatural who are usually discrete would have a hostage situation on live television. But then Matt said he told his cop friends it was a hoax so now I'm back to 50/50 on whether they're real or fake.

Yeah, I guess it could go either way. I've just had a weird feeling about the entire storyline we've been given. They kill Julian, and now we have this random huntress show up. Now, Stefan has to hide from her. Plus, why is Elena still alive in the FF. Did Damon not really burn her up?

I think it would be too disrespectful to kill Elena off like that so it must be a hallucination or something.

marshall i wouldnt put it past the writers, that is for sure, but i do agree that it would feel like a big waste to all be fake. i do think the burning elena thing would be really lame and disrespectful to the fans. having damon be the one to kill her would just be ridiculous iMO and a bit anti-climatic. so i hope because of that the ff's ARE real. it would be a huge waste of tim to be seeing them and for there not to any pay off at all there. i would hope the writers wouldnt be that stupid.

I feel this way now, still. I recently rewatched their scenes and they just had too good of a build up to be thrown away. I truly feel the writers built them to be a real long lasting relationship. i think caroline is and always has been good for stefan. i do believe the ff's are just a roadblock for them and they will get back together in some "epic" way after all is said and done. i dont see how SC has been "neglected"... they've gotten at least one scene in every episode basically.

in terms of damon/defan i guess there could be bigger storyline there but i never really saw that. think the issues between the brothers is important and will always be a part of the shows structure but i dont think its going to interfere with stefan/carolines relationship. i just consider it a separate issue entirely. i dont think damon has ever really affected the s/c relationship in anyway other than a few comments here and there about s/cs connection.

Alexa, I really hope that you're right with your optimism!
But I agree, there has been too much build up for SC to waste all of this and forget about them. Lets just see what is going to happen when we get the time jump to the FFs in 7x16 (probably?).

I definitely do not think that Damon burning Elena's body was real. There is no way this is the end of Elena on the show. I mean right in the first FF of the first episode, Stefan woke Damon up and Damon said: "You were not supposed to wake me up before Elena does". So that means that she is still out there somewhere.
And didn't the writers say that they are planning for Nina to come back for the last episode in the series finale?

And about Damon and the SC relationship: I think even though he tends to make mocking comments etc, he is one of the biggest SC shippers on the show.
He sees that she makes his brother happy, and that they are good for each other!
