I realize I may be talking to myself in here but oh well...she witnessed a murder at 17. And Danny has to stay with her to protect her from the guy who got out. And she gets away and Ed is not impressed! "She's all of 105 pounds!" LMAO

I love DannySam... Still mad they didn't get together! I mean, he was always looking out for her. Even when he was annoyed/mad at her. He was the one who knew the most about her and he was her confident. They had the best chemistry.

It's such an old show tho, do you know where I could find any fics about them? ffnet and ao3 are completely useless!

Welcome! I'm so glad there's another fan!

Tell me about it, I always thought they had insane chemistry and would've made such a fun couple. And a great dynamic, because he definitely cared about her. He and Ed were the only ones who knew about what she went through at 17.

It's funny, because normally I'm all about the "childhood friends" getting together, but I never got excited about Danny and Mary. Sometimes she actually annoys me. She gave him the ring back, saying sometimes things just don't work out no matter how much you want them to. Then in a later episode (Valentine's), when she gets flowers from a secret admirer, she asks him "You're not jealous, are you?" Like she wanted him to be jealous. Sometimes it comes off a little desperate in my eyes. I'd choose Danny/Delinda any day over Danny/Mary. But man, Danny/Sam, why didn't the writers go there?! I'm currently rewatching the whole show and they don't have as many scenes together in the second and third season thus far as in the first.

And the fics...yeah that's a depressing story. I've looked through everything at FanFiction and while there was a few cute ones, it's mostly useless. And very few Sam/Danny. I did save some in my account so I'll try to link them here. I don't think any were purely Danny/Sam, but they had moments with them in it. (Well the Don't Go - the first one linked in the OP - was a one shot focused on them, and I really liked that one). The Sick Daze above is cute cuz there's a scene where Sam visits Danny at his home and it's so classically them, her endlessly teasing him even when he's sick.

Sparks in Las Vegas
I Didn't Say I'd Be Easy
The Ties That Bind

I just skim the brief Danny/Mary parts.

True! They had some mad interactions and I laughed so much with those two. They were always challenging each other.

Overall, I love most of the characters individually than in any pairing. Danny, Sam and Mike were my favourites. I wish Nessa did not leave. She was great and she was British. Her accent was brilliant.

I've never been fond of the whole Delinda/Danny thing. It looked too cliché. The boss's favourite golden boy falling in love with the Boss's dear daughter. They were cute tho.

I'm still disappointed that Danny and Sam never talked about her whole marriage thing--they could have had a thing back in S1, so I wonder if Danny ever asked himself if Sam would have said anything about her marriage if Casey hadn't shown up.

Also Danny and Sam never truly talked about the kidnapping thing. As far as I remember Sam saw Danny before that dude took her to his plane I think? Danny would have been the last person she saw if she hadn't come back. But I'm not sure tho, I don't really remember. I need to rewatch the whole show because I've never finished it actually, I may have watched only 4 or 5 episode in s5 but most people told me it wasn't that great, that I didn't miss much so...

And yes! I've seen those fics, I don't like reading unfinished fics!!! But thank you tho. My friend said she had found one one day, a great one, with good characterisation, grammar and everything, but she didn't download it and when she tried to find it again, it was gone. The author had deleted everything. A shame.

Exactly! She kept him on his toes, and he liked the challenge.

Same here, the entire cast is really fun to watch together. My husband is actually watching the show with me, and it's so awesome because it's the first show we are marathon-ing together ever. Says something to me about the show having something special. He's really enjoying Ed/Danny/Mike dynamic cuz they're hilarious. The show is just fun and I love how they still manage to make every episode unique, even if it's based around similar scenarios sometimes (cheats for example).

I was sad too when Nessa left! I always loved the possibility of her and Mike, the little bit we got was sweet.

Agreed about it being cliche. To me they're funny together but I just can't see any chemistry the way I do with Sam/Danny.

The marriage thing and the kidnapping thing, absolutely. It would've made their bond stronger I think. I found it interesting, when the gang finds out about Casey, Danny is working a case away from the Montecito at a horse race. Mike calls Danny because Sam has gone incognito and they need to find her. So Mike's like "did you know Sam was married?" or something along those lines, and Danny doesn't respond to it. Like not a word, just gets on with his case. My delusional shipper heart was like "he doesn't wanna hear about that so he's choosing to ignore it." LMAO.

And the kidnapping, man how powerful it could've been to have had the two of them talking after it all happened. For Danny to let her know he understands her better now, but without making her feel "weak" because Sam hates that.

You should totally rewatch! It's an entertaining show for sure, and from what I remember I actually quite enjoyed Season 5, even if it was weird not having Ed there anymore. But it's been a long time since I've seen the show so who knows how I'll like it this time when I get to S5.

I was so desperate I didn't care, give me anything! Man that is too bad, I would love to read that!

The show has been back on TV for the past month, I noticed it when I came back from Uni one day. Today was the last episode of season 2, everybody was sad during this episode except Delinda because she's always happy.

The Ed/Danny/Mike dynamics reminds me of Coulson/Hunter/Fitz dynamics on AOS (I don't know if you watch this show, but those three together are funny too).

Sam had great chemistry with the boys. At first, whenever she needed something she went for Danny. Always Danny. Then we got more of Sam/Mike and it was great. Mike was Sam's biggest fan ever since the "Hummingbird-Sam eats a lot" episode.

But I kinda of wished it was Danny who noticed Sam was missing? Cuz he's always around when she is in trouble whether she likes it or not. But I also feel bad for Delinda because she also needed Danny in that episode but he was with Mary who needed him as well?

Beside all of this, they should have dug deeper into Sam's past. Casey was overall the funniest part of it, but they could have done more.

I'm sad, we're never getting this show back, so no more Danny/Sam. I wouldn't mind if there was some reading content to keep me occupied but nope, nothing.

I don't even know what AOS stands for.

Yes I love her dynamic with the boys. That Hummingbird episode was so great, I love how she was such a champ and not giving up!

I know what you mean. I was bummed to have so little of them, not even a small conversation or anything. I wish the writers could've brought it up at some later point that they did go out with each other once. But I guess it was only mentioned in the pilot episode and never spoken of again.

I always wanted more of Sam, she was my favorite character. Full of sass and so independent, yet still sweet in her own way even if she didn't want people to think of her that way.

Oops, sorry, mea culpa. AOS means Agents Of SHIELD.

Yeah, she was a badass in that episode and I love how Mike remembered how amazing she had been the first time around, and then picked her again for a new contest a few years later. He can appreciate talent when he sees it, kudos to Mike.

A lot of things was never spoken of ever again like as you said the fact they knew each other before, or the stargazing night they spent together, or the even the episode where she admitted she witnessed a murder back when she was 17. There was a CrossingJordan/Las Vegas crossover and Sam and Danny were in the Montecito jet together, Danny defended Sam because there was a man with them and he was all over Sam and then the man died, and since Sam and Danny were there when it happened so it could have been a great if they had brought up the topic back but nope.

The fact that each episode was unique created some discontinuity, some gasps that they could have just filled up, you know.

Yup, Sam was cute and all warm inside but since she had a reputation to uphold, she had to pretend to be cool and mean most of the time.

Okay got it! I love the Avengers movies but I haven't seen the show.

Aw I don't remember that, I look forward to watching it again then!

YESSS the stargazing night. I hate that it's like that never happened. It was such a sweet episode for them, they really got closer there. But then when you watch the episode after that one (where the power goes out at the casino and Danny and Mary get stuck in an elevator), it almost feels like they only did the episode to prop up Danny/Mary cuz she confronts him like "now you're sleeping with Sam..."

That must be in the fourth or fifth season, because we're just finishing season three now. (With the jet). Can't wait to watch that. It's so sweet that he stood up for her.

That's the downside for sure, having those gaps.

Do you want me to add you to the list? We'll probably be the only two ever in here lmao but I'm so happy it's not just me anymore.

I'm Gladys btw.

You should totally watch it. The Netflix series are better than the movies imo.

I think the episode where there's a new contest is in S4, cuz that's when Sam finds out Casey died.

Oh yeah, the episode right after 'Hellraisers & Heartbreakers' was very Danny/Mary centric but Sam was hilarious cuz she hadn't slept for two days and she was delirious. LMAO

I'm not sure but I think the crossover episode was 4x07 for Crossing Jordan and it ends in 2x08 Las Vegas.

Sure, add me to the list, whatever the list it is.

Hi, Gladys. I'm Effie.

PS: I found this

Okay well we started watching S4 yesterday, so soon enough I'll be seeing that all again. I forgot that Casey dies!

Oh man yeah, she was losing it LMAO!

OK I added you (to the shipper list).

Aww that was cute, thanks for sharing!

In the early episodes of Season 4, Sam has to go to Hawaii to deal with a whale who racked up tons of debt under the Montecito. She keeps calling Danny but he keeps hanging up on her. I was like "I wanna hit you across the head right now Danny!" Then when Mike tells Danny he's going to Hawaii to help Sam out, Danny's like "How come you get to go and not me?" Like dude! Well Ed was away so Danny was technically in charge. And even though he annoyed me a bit for not treating Sam's issue seriously, I found it cute that he wanted to go to Hawaii when he found out Mike was going.

I liked Casey but the story of his death was so funny, I've never forgotten and I still find it hilarious.

Sam is the funniest character. Mike and Sam are the funniest actually.

Delinda and Danny are together by S4, right? At some point, Casey's bro appears that I know. I liked him, he was cute. Never liked him with Sam tho but he was cute. Casey was better.

I'm with Danny. I would love to go to Hawaï.

I definitely need to rewatch this series! There are so many things I've forgotten.
