Dan ♥ Blair #175~"Friendship can be used as an excuse, a cover, when there's something more that you don't want to admit, or too scared to explore."

But I wish I had. 'Cause even if it didn't change anything, she'd know how I felt.” “You have to decide what's more important to you. Keeping your pride and getting nothing. Or taking a risk and maybe, maybe having everything” Shipper Wall “Say life is giving you signs. And you’re ignoring them because you’re afraid of the things they’re signaling you to do. But, but then you think, what if these signs are here for a reason? It almost seems like they wanted the characters to regress and make the wrong choices in the end. __________________

I didn't watch s6 either, but similar things have happened in the final episodes of other shows. I don't get why the writers do this. One of the best things about following a long-running TV series is seeing character development and growth unfold. Why undo it all at the end? (For the record though, I always loved Blair's headbands.) __________________

^ Seems like it. If we can find the original IMG link, I could re-upload it though.

I personally wouldn't mind doing the highlights from s1-3 first, but it's up to y'all.
That has all of s1 in one video, but it looks like s2 and the first half of s3 were all deleted for copyright. I'll see what else I can find though... __________________

I haven't rewatched scenes in a long time, but I decided to watch some today. I forgot how much I loved 5x15/5x16. You can't tell me they weren't headed for a Dan/Blair endgame with those episodes. They just put so much thought into their scenes. Plus, their chemistry was amazing! Penn and Leighton played off each other so well. Sigh, what could have been? If Safran had stayed, I'm pretty sure the season 5 finale would have been so much better. There was so much potential with them. It was new and fresh, but they killed it before it could grow. Dan and Blair just made so much sense.

So I watched the s1 compilation last night. The scene where Dan hears Blair and Serena fighting in the stairwell and then opens up to her about his mother remains one of the show's best. Just great writing and acting all around, and no over-the-top drama.
I also love the lines: "Motive is irrelevant as long as our endgame's the same." "Blair, this is not a game to me." They may have been discussing something else, but it's perfect! Also, Cabbage Patch! __________________

I just forgot how much thought they put into them. They were working through problems realistically. They had actual conversations! Something CB never really had after like season 1/2. It was just nice to see that. I'm thankful we got what we got. Their story was unfinished and cut short by savage, but you could tell someone cared a lot about the relationship. The best thing about their entire relationship was that they grew! The characters were developing, which didn't happen previously. I don't know if the writers intended it, but it happened.

I agree that that was the best thing about their relationship - you both saw them become much better people with each other, they truly grew up & that made them feel like real people instead of just characters on a show
