There is In diet coke, the artificial sweetener is not actually a sweetener it just modifies your brain's taste sensors or something and you think it tastes sweet when it actually doesn't. That's why anything you eat while you're drinking will taste a little sweet too. This is because of a drug in amphetamine, I don't remember its name, but one of its side effects is temporary blindness.
