There! I said it!! Community is NOT about coupling. It's about this group of utterly disfunctional people and how they make a (somewhat) functional family, and when they deal with any romantiv dynamic on the show it sucks a bit of its awesomeness, for me.

ITA with all those I love Elijah as a character and don't want him to be a part of some contrived romance, especially human/vampire relationship.


Oh, I know there is supposed to be book 13 and it is gonna be the last book as far as I know, right?.. Anyway, yes, I agree with you about Sookie wanting a normal life and Sam can give it to her, that is why I don't mind her ending up with Sam, I even like this idea, though my OTP of the series will always be Sookie/Eric. I just hope that CH doesn't come back to Sookie/Bill, it would be contrived to no end and wrong on so many levels.

I definitelly think that for now Caroline needs to be single There is so much to explore and deal with when it comes to her character, I wanted to see her struggles about being a vampire, to work out her family issues, her issues with her father, but instead her only story line is having sex with Tyler, which I can't approve.

I would love for these pairings to go away - or to never have existed at all. None of those couples get each other, and at least two of them are second-choice pairings.

Jeff/Britta- I try not to anti-ship but i find these two so dull and their interactions so forced that i really dislike when the show tries to sell it to me like its an epic OTP romance.

I've only caught up with the first half of season two of Community so far (up to the Halloween episode) and personally I love some of the potentially romantic relationships (Jeff/Annie, Troy/Britta), but I kind of agree with this. I'm not invested in the romantic aspects as I am in the group dynamics or friendship dynamics (such as Troy/Abed). In general, as long as the study group/family is good I'm good, so I hope the show will stay focused mostly on that and not dwell on the romantic aspects too much.
Up to the point I've reached I think the balance of the writing has been great though.

Spike/Buffy I can't truly believe that Spike loved her. His actions in S6 proved otherwise. And the whole getting a soul thing for her was so lame.
I don't buy Buffy's supposed love for him either. When she said 'I love you' in Chosen, it felt false to me but at least Spike knew that she didn't. It's actually a shame I hate these two so much because I think the actors have some great chemistry together. I would have possibly shipped them if the storylines hadn't been so awful.

Pacey/Joey I have always thought that Joey brings out the worst in Pacey and vice versa. Season 4 is a prime example of this. They both treat each other with contempt sometimes and it's strange that for a couple supposed to be deeply in love, it hardly ever shows on the screen. The chemistry too seems to fizzle out.

They are all about the sex. There is no depth to them.

But Community is not really a shippy show. And it drives me nuts when I see people on tumblr argue who is better: Jeff/Annie or Jeff/Britta. I love Jeff/Annie but come on, it's a sitcom, a very sarcastic one at that. Why so serious?
