Because, watch the show, ABC. In reality, EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD kept them apart. And Jack and Kate themselves let it happen. From Jack's own insufferable hubris, to Kate's desire to be crawling around on Sawyer's naked chest, to Jack's own pathetic daddy and drug issues, to Kate's inability to trust Jack with any truth about her own life, to their own tendency to just apathy each other into oblivion. Fact is, they didn't care enough about each other while they were alive to try and make it work between them. Nope, Kack had to be DEAD, and all "otherworldly" in Jack's personal purgatory in order to even try and be together. What a joke.  __________________
