As for previouse convo about Doyle... there where a lot of rumors about Glenn and his departure, but none of it was confirmed. And highly doubt that he committed suicide. We can never know now.

All I know is that Cordy/Doyle where perfect together and even as someone who never got into any of Cordy's pairings, I couldn't resist them.

David refused to talk about the whole situation so I doubt he ever said so. I remember his video interview where he said he is "shocked" about the news. There are too many things about this situation that are weird and unknown.

I can get that but the characters could definitely have coexisted on the show. I love Angel so much and I love Doyle, but it's obvious there wasn't going to be a competition between the characters. They were good friends.

Glenn Quinn did in fact commit suicide. He and David B were apparently very close friends and it was hard for David to talk about his loss. I think i heard this on an episode commentary. Im almost 90% sure.

Actually, in TV land it is very tricky. For those of us that love a character, its hard to understand why they would decide to kill one off when so many people responded to him. But remember, Angel was in its infancy as a show. And David Greenwalt, Joss & Co were trying to find the right voice and balance of the show. So while it might have been a combination of things (incl GQ personal issues) i dont think its implausible that the dynamic of the characters was a contributing factor.

Exactly. Angel would never do anything to bring Doyle down and Doyle would not do it either. They where great friends and imo, Angel never had this kind of friendship with anyone else.

I am sure that Cordy/Doyle should have been THE couple of the series and they would if Doyle had stayed. I mean, just 9 episides and more than 10 years later they still have a huge fanbase and there still are fans like me who believe that they belonged together. It means something. They had a potential to become something great.

I was looking at it from a Buffy/Faith conflict. Since it's a known fact that Josh didn't want to keep Faith on the show because he thought of the possibility fans might love her more than Buffy. I don't see this happening with Angel and Doyle.

As for the suicide/drug problems reasons it's very unfortunate, really

This all reminds me, as much as I loved Doyle and didn't want him dead at all:

Joss/actually having the stones to kill off male characters
