I completely agree.

That wasn't enough for me. Sure in the beginning I kinda liked them. But Ross was a lot more sympathetic early on. But as time went on, his behavior wore thin.

Of course, the opposite happened with Joey for me. In the pilot, he made a pass at Rachel, who at the time just left her wedding. I didn't find that cute or anything at all. We really didn't see a lot of Joey's most likable qualities early on. We didn't see his big heart, best friend qualities as much. I'm not saying it was not there. It just wasn't as prominent.

I agree, Joey's that guy who you don't realize at first how awesome he is. It can take a while to get to know him & see how big his heart is, & how truly selfless & giving he can be with someone he loves

Oh, don't I know! It was a beautiful thing to watch. Not just with Rach but with everyone. He is so loving, and protective. It's my favorite quality of Joey's. Along with drinking a gallon of milk all at once.

In the beginning they also didn't give him so many dumb moments, I feel at first his main thing was being a womanizer and a lot of jokes stemmed from that so that is why he shined more in the later seasons since you can't repeat the same joke forever.

Although, he had no choice, so to speak. Ya know, with Rach, he tried, he really tried, to avoid his feelings, to get rid of them. But it simply didn't work. Thankfully!
