Yes it did, and it shows that the writers thought of them as a possibility even before Season 8.

Are there times you wished feelings got developed prior to Season 8 or you are happy with the way it happened?

I'm pretty happy with how it happened tbh. It's nice to imagine what it could have been like if they were the couple of the show & we'd had 10 seasons to enjoy them falling in love & making their relationship work - but I don't know if I would have shipped them in the same way if they were written like that. I don't tend to like the ships that you're supposed to like

For me it usually depends on the show. Sometimes I root for the couple that we are suppose to like... although most of the time I don't so... yeah. lol Well I do like so many different kind of couples so yeah I dunno.
With Friends, I did actually like Ross & Rachel at one point... I still actually do, I just don't ship them.

However, with Joey and Rachel, I always shipped them.

There are times where I do like Ross & Rachel together, that's when they were actually together in s2 & the beginning of s3. But I never like their buildup, & after they broke up in s3, I never enjoyed any of their romantic stuff.

I didn't ship Joey & Rachel till their 'terrified' moment, I'd never really thought about them together before that - but now when I rewatch, I love them throughout the entire series

I agree with that. After the breakup in Season 3, I fell away for me.
I think for me I probably always shipped Joey and Rachel cause in the past I watched Friends out of order. So I can watch an episode from Season 6 one day and then a episode from Season 3 the next. lol I started watching live around Season 7... so that means I technically still shipped them before Season 8. lol

I think I always saw the chemistry and enjoyed their scenes so I shipped it!

Not any I can remember.

I just remember watching the re-runs on the WB and That's So Raymond came on right after. It was always like at 11pm at night... I use to watch both shows back to back and I just loved both shows and my favorite character was Joey, and I loved Chandler and just the show in general... and then I remember thinking Joey/Rachel would be awesome together.
If I can just assume, I think it would be from a Season 4 or 5 episode... since I believe I watched an episode from one of those seasons to begin my Friends journey.

That's the episode I assumed.

I just can't remember my reaction much.

... I remember a bit. I assume I was very excited about it. I know I recorded the episodes on my VHS tapes and I re-watched those episodes a lot. It made me curious of their previous scenes I did miss.

I downloaded it & watched it over & over too

I did that with a lot of s8 & 9 episodes
