Protrayed by Ryan Hawley since 2014    The Beginning Aaron had been running a car chop shop with Ross Barton under Charity Dingle leadership. Robert returns to the village after many years away. With a fiancée Chrissie, her son Lachlan, and her father Lawrence in tow. They all move into Home Farm, Lawrence does not approve of Robert. Ross foolishly steals Robert's car. Robert catches them in the act, getting ready to chop up his car and blackmails the boys into pulling a fake robbery on Home Farm to get back at Lawrence. Aaron and Robert aren't impressed with each other in the beginning. Aaron sees Robert as a conniving pillock and Robert sees Aaron as a thieving chav. The robbery goes off; Aaron and Ross complete the deed, undetected. Robert is made to look the hero. Later it's found that Ross has stolen a ring that had belonged to Chrissie's late mother. Aaron gets it back for Robert, he tries to thank Aaron with money. Aaron angrily tells him to do one which intrigues Robert. A while later Robert teases Aaron about being interested in Chrissie after he fixes her car for free. Aaron surprises Robert when Aaron exclaims that he's gay. Soon after learning this information, Robert starts acting nicer to Aaron, wanting them to be friends. Aaron. A few days later, Robert pulls over in the middle of nowhere pretending to be broken down as ploy to get Aaron to come to his aid. Aaron shows up, quickly figuring out there is nothing wrong with the car. Aaron annoyed that his time has been wasted goes to leave, Robert makes a move and pulls Aaron into a passionate kiss.   
The Affair Part One: A Lustful Start    They had a lustful one night stand which quickly turns into a passionate affair between them. Though things do not sail smooth for their affair. For example, Aaron does not approve of Robert's harsh behavior towards Andy, which leads to tension between Robert and Aaron. Robert wants to have a legitimate reason to be able to meet Aaron in public and offers to Adam (Aaron’s best friend) to invest in a new business that would be run by the boys. Problems arise, when Robert's long time jealousy and resentment over Andy being the “golden boy” of the family starts to get the better of him. Robert also has mixed feelings about Andy remarrying Katie Addyman, the woman that both brothers had loved at one time. Which leads to a massive fight between the brothers at their father’s grave, upsetting their sister Victoria who is also Aaron's friend. He tells Robert that they're done and he wants nothing more to do with someone who treats people the way Robert does. Robert takes Aaron's words to heart and genuinely apologizes for his actions to Andy, which Aaron overhears. Robert wants a fresh start with his brother, Andy accepts Robert’s apology, wanting to make peace as well. He invites Robert and Chrissie to the wedding. It all goes badly again, during the ceremony where it's found that Robert had played a nasty trick with the rings. Everyone turns on him, especially Katie. Who is furious at what he's done and vows to get back at him for ruining her wedding. But Aaron, who is impressed that Robert genuinely tried to make amends and feels truly sorry for his actions. Aaron lets Robert back in and they happily renew their affair.
The Affair Part Two: Sneaking Around The Love Barn    Things go south when Robert keeps canceling plans with Aaron to spend time with Chrissie or Chrissie's family. While he’s supposed to be watching Lachlan, Robert sneaks out to be with Aaron in their meeting place. Aaron is disappointed to hear Robert say once he marries Chrissie, the affair will be over. Lachlan has a bad reaction to drugs while he's on his own and almost dies. Chrissie is furious at Robert for leaving her son on his own, Robert turns around taking it out on Aaron. Meanwhile after hearing what happen with Lachlan, Katie correctly guesses that Robert was with his lover when he disappeared. She plans to find his mystery lover and expose Robert for the cheater that he is. Robert missing Aaron comes sniffing around again. But Aaron is sick of his selfish attitude and turns him away. Though later after some groveling from Robert, Aaron forgives him. Unfortunately Katie starts sniffing around for clues and finds one when she peaks at Robert's phone. Seeing a text "kiss and make up?" sent to a contact labeled A. Katie thinks it's a woman he's cheating with and jumps to the conclusion that Robert's mystery lady is Alicia Metcalfe. She enjoys winding him up and gossips with Chas over her find. Robert finds out about Katie's suspicions and tells Aaron they must stay away from each other until the heat dies down. Robert changes his mind, planning on using Katie's suspicions against her; by letting her think he's cheating with Alicia. And when Katie publicly confronts him, he reveals proof that he's innocent of an affair with Alicia. Making Katie look the fool, which makes her more determine to get back at him.
The Affair Part Three: A Deeper Connection    A deeper connection is revealed between the boys when Aaron's Uncle Cain Dingle, takes ill with a brain aneurysm. Aaron is consumed with worry; Robert comforts him and helps him through his time of need which both confuses and warms Aaron to him. Aaron and Adam scrap business starts to get off the ground with a few hiccups. Aaron worries about doing business with someone he's involved with, Robert puts his mind at ease, letting it slip he's fallen for Aaron. Throwing Aaron for a loop, but nothing is said more on the subject. A few days later, Robert has overnight business in Leeds and convinces Aaron to come with him. They enjoy a new found intimacy between them away from the village. It's clear Aaron has fallen hard for Robert. When they return to the village, Aaron finds it harder and harder to watch Robert with Chrissie. Andy tired of the fighting in his family moves to make amends with Robert. But Katie is still resentful of Robert's actions and treatment of them, but for Andy's sake she tries to get along. Though she can't keep her opinions to herself and tells Chrissie that Robert is not to be trusted. Later Chrissie finds some porn on Robert's computer and quickly jumps to accusation that Robert is cheating. Though Chrissie, Robert, and Lawrence shockingly soon find that the guilty party is Chrissie’s teenage son Lachlan. Chrissie apologizes to Robert for doubting him. Robert promises Chrissie, that he will never cheat on her with another woman. Which he ironically sticks too, since Aaron is a man.
The Affair Part Four: It Starts To Unravel    Robert suggests that Aaron and him spend another night in a hotel and Aaron is unable to resist time alone with Robert. Katie overhears Robert talking to the hotel on the phone about his reservation being ready in time for his "date" arrival. She is convince she's got him and plans to expose his true colors to Chrissie. While getting dressed up for his rendezvous with Robert, Aaron lets it slip to Paddy that he's getting dressed up fancy to meet someone special. Paddy gets excited for him, but Aaron swears him to secrecy. Aaron and Robert enjoy some closeness at the hotel, but it turns sour when Katie shows up with Chrissie planning to catch Robert red handed. Robert spots them searching the place for Robert and his secret lover. Quickly switching gears, Robert makes Aaron leave and pretends the hotel is a romantic surprise for Chrissie. Once again Robert making Katie look likes an obsessive fool. Robert is thrilled Chrissie is none the wiser and Katie is foiled again. But Aaron isn't, he's sick of sneaking around and of Robert's callous treatment of him. He tells Robert to get lost or he'll break his nose. Robert goes to threaten Katie, promising that he will wreck her life, like she tried to do his. A vulnerable Aaron, half confesses to Paddy. He tells Paddy about the affair, but leaves out names. He also confesses to Paddy that he's in love with the man he's having the affair with. Paddy assumed that Aaron is cheating with a gay man who won't leave his boyfriend. A few days later, Aaron admits that his secret fella is married to a woman. And Paddy tells him to run a mile, that he doesn't need the hassle and complication. Meanwhile Andy and Katie are moving into a caravan on land that they are planning on buying from the Whites at a discount considering the stunt Robert pulled at their wedding. Robert shows up and asks Andy to be his best man to annoy Katie. He taunts her and she taunts him right back. At least she feels guilty, he's just acting out and makings things worse. The scene with Ross in the pub reminded me so much of Cain's judgement day storyline. But Chrissie is the woman who made Katie miserable. Who hates Aaron at the moment and is just causing Chas to be another toxic to Aaron at the moment. Writers can you tell us what your smoking and perhaps share so we can understand these insane choices with you. Can Lachlan go now please? I thought he was revolting and disgusting enough before he attacked Alicia. Now he just keeps upping the quota. Drugging his own grandfather? How stupid can you be? How twisted can you be thinking this plan is ok? That the means outweigh the means? Robert would never be so stupid. And it's not like he has easy access to the pills anymore. And I repeat Robert wouldn't be that stupid. Robert has more to gain with Lawrence alive and in good health than something happening to him. Like I said Robert doesn't have easy access to the pills anymore. He wouldn't be that stupid, or that clumsy to get caught. So that some anonymous person can call in and report him. Any police officer with half a brain would realize it all smells way too fishy. Crimes aren't handle to the police like that, all perfect wrapped up in a bow. Chrissie needs to wake up and realize that Lachlan needs strong professional help and perhaps some strong medication to hinder these actions. His victim count is just going to get bigger because he doesn't see anything wrong with his actions. Can the HF curse just get him already?  Aaron dressed up as a cowboy for a fancy dress stag do. Now that's a happy image.   Found some nice fan art/fan gifs.   What worries me is this is exactly what Aaron's going to do (is actually doing right now) to make take care of everyone else. To not disappoint them and this isn't ok.  The way things are going and how he's moving forward with his life pretending it's all ok. He's going for a relapse soon, though I fear what kind of self harm he will use. And hopefully the show will handle it properly. I really do think that perhaps Aaron should take over Pearl's old house and get away from the toxicity in his life for the moment. He should go out and meet more people his age. Adam's married now, with a kid on the way (it's not his, but I digress) they can't hang out like they used to. Aaron needs more friends, maybe some gay friends who are just friends, nothing romantic. He needs his own space and he needs to go get some professional help.        No matter what happens Robert deeply, head over heels, jump over the moon is in love with Aaron. He couldn't stay away, it wasn't just the dangerous affair and excitement of it all. He wanted to be near Aaron and experience all the parts of Aaron. Not just the sexual relationship, every time the affair ended it was always Robert who started it up again. Robert was the happiest and most content with Aaron. And nothing will convince me otherwise. __________________

I know Robert deserves to be miserable (especially for all he's put Aaron through) but he just seemed so sad in the two scenes he was in that I just wanted to cuddle him until he smiled or smirked. Best part of the Monday episode for me was the way he was sitting at the pub staring so intently at Aaron.
 A lot of fans seem to have found it odd that Andy is hostile to Robert while seemingly having no problem with Aaron. But it isn't strange imo when you take into consideration his bad history with Robert (plus he's also likely feeling like a fool for turning against Katie and believing Robert over her when she was making the affair allegations). It makes sense that his hostile reaction would be more toward Robert rather than Aaron. Is it just me or does Chrissie's attitude toward Aaron come across as quite homophobic with some of the nasty denigrating comments she has made alluding to his sexuality? With her attitude I am really starting to wonder if that is where some if not a lot of Robert's issues toward his own sexuality stems from.

This is just a theory I've had but what if maybe he heads to the hospital w/Adam where they meet up with the others there and finds out Aaron is still at the crash site trying to help so in a panic he heads to the crash site to make sure Aaron is okay. Sadly this is probably just my overactive wishful thinking in progress to help myself cope with the fact it is more than likely not going to happen like that. __________________

If you don't love me, let me go - straeon - robron, Emmerdale [Archive of Our Own] Honesty - lullabelle_moon - Emmerdale, robron [Archive of Our Own] Wake Up - lullabelle_moon - Emmerdale, robron [Archive of Our Own] We Wait - lullabelle_moon - Emmerdale, robron [Archive of Our Own] I hope we get some robron scenes in the Thursday double because I have a feeling that Aaron is going to be inside the wreckage (along with Cain) looking for Kyle when the wreckage of the helicopter explodes because in the last scene of Aaron that I noticed from the Wednesday episode he disappeared after everyone realized that Kyle was missing. If that does happen I NEED to see Robert in a panic over Aaron being missing. I liked this Aaron/Victoria/Robert scene. The boys both took turns comforting Victoria . For two people who just had a building collapse on top of them I must say Aaron and Victoria both still looked gorgeous. Robert wasn't bragging about having saved Adam (which is strangely humble of him but given the unfolding situation not unexpected), hopefully Adam will tell everyone who saved him because Robert does deserve praise for it.    Aaron is the most precious angel ever, he was non-stop in the thick of the action trying to help find people in the wreckage and even got Joanie out to safety. He kept running back into the wreckage to help. Chas's face (when we first see Aaron post-crash) thinking he was dead made me cried so freaking much, I'm sure the hundreds of Aaron fans were feeling the same relief when he began moving and opened his beautiful eyes. I hate Chrissie's stinking guts more than words can express, thankfully she was only in one scene of the episode (as far as I'm aware since I'm yet to be able to see the full episode), she was so irritating with her screeching and hysterical noise that I wish I'd muted the sound instead of having to endure listening to it.
