The Cate/Baze Appreciation Thread

Cate Cassidy and Nathaniel Bazile, 16 years ago, gave into an impulse at Winter Formal that created their daughter Lux. Baze's failure to step up and Cate's inability to raise the child on her own caused Lux to be put up for adoption. 16 years later, Lux returns, determined to seek emancipation from her birth parents and live life on her own terms. In a moment, Cate and Baze's lives are thrown off balance. Due to extraordinary circumstances, they are brought together to raise her. This is their story---theirs ups, downs---the banter, the tragedy, but also the hope and the love that makes them worth following and adoring.

Ok...fave quote from the premiere? Hmmm. It's so hard to choose! I suppose I'd have to go with "I just want to know that you don't hate me" and "I don't hate you. I could never hate you." So sweet.

Hi Sarah! I'm sure someone will be along to add you soon. I feel the same way you do. I love the show in general, but one of the main reasons I want it to last for several seasons is to give the writers time to really develop CB's relationship on a solid foundation. I don't mind the build-up, the slow burn...it makes it so much more satisfying in the end. It makes everything worth it. CB has the potential to be so EPIC. I don't want to see them rushed or short-changed.

kerbear, ITA with your whole post. I like that the writers haven't rushed things as well and the buildup has been great so far so hopefully they'll continue down that path. Kris/Shiri have amazing chemistry so I do think that they have TONS of potential and it'll be a real shame not to see it being explored further.
