It depends on the writers, I agree that SK and Ward's books have become much worse, for for example Kresley Cole's Immortal After Dark series is as long as the BDB, the romance hasn't lost his focus, and it's still great

I think Ward is tired of writing romance, maybe she thinks it's silly, so she's trying to shift to paranormal but she's forgetting two important things: 1. It's the romance fans that made her a success! and 2. She's just not that good at paranormals, the best parts of the earlier books were the romances, not the world building.

I mean, really, who wants to read about Lash and the Princess having sex? Disgusting

see this is why I love Karen Marie Moning, she said out loud that romance wasn't just enough for her, she didn't stop writing romance into her stories but she told everyone right from there start there's gonna be much more than that and she stick to it. I love her Fever series for both romance I'm such a gonner for and all the non romance stuff. But doing that in the middle of the series and writing about stuff people donna wanna read is just cruel

I think another difference with KMM, even though I haven't read her Fever series, is that there's only one main couple in the whole series; the BDB is different, we expect a different couple every book, and if the couple disappoints, then of course the whole book is going to be disappointing as well.

yeah but KMM is also writing a multi character/couple series apart Fever: the Highlander series and before she published Fever she warned people she won't be only focusing on romances even if she plans to maybe write some more in Highlanders

Oh I thought the Highlanders were over. To tell the truth, I read a couple of those but they didn't really impress me.

yeah because those were her first books, the first one isn't written the best, the second one is boring but the fun starts with the 4th and 5th and 6th

KMM's Highlander series are great. I have all of them and I was a little bitter that she stopped writing them. Okay, so I am more than a little bitter

It's why I haven't read any of her Fever novels. The last one (Spell of a Highlander) had an ending that has so much potential for that series

See that whole "messed up sexually" aspect of John is getting a little on my nerves. I understand that he was raped but so was Zsadist. The guy was a blood slave! Why can't the be a little more normalcy there?

If she shifts into paranormal and forgets about the romance for the next couple novels, I'll stop buying

I read romance novels for the romance. I'd be reading HP or LOTR if I wanted to be amazed by a whole new world

it FALLOWS that ending

Keltars are in Fever even

it just fill what the Queen predicted

there's Jericho Barrons

he's like all the Highlanders put together

And there's Christian MacKeltar, Christopher's son

and Drusten, Dageus and Cian pop in here and there. I think Barrons is one of the 5 Druids the Queen predicted would save her

back to BDB... can Lassiter have a book in this series and not that weird angel one

His book I would love to read

I think if Lassitar plans on being allowed back into the Angel-fold, he probably wont get his book. But if he stays and fights with the Brothers than that would work much better

I know, I couldn't understand how the abuse made him whiny, but some bad sex with Xhex and he turns all badass and icy cold? How does that make any sense?!
