I just caught up with the conversation on the last thread about Pearl Harbor, and I have to say while I thought the love story between Danny and Evelyn was sweet, I could help but root for Rafe/Evelyn until the very end. Of course I would have preferred them to end up together because she wanted to be with him instead of Danny dying, but you can't pick your battles.

The whole movie was just incredible though.

both relationships made sense but I interpreted it as she loved Rafe no matter what, whereas she chose to love Danny when she got pregnant by him. So for me, the movie ended the right way. (For R/E, not Danny)

See for me it was the other way around. I loved both relationships, but I thought that she loved Danny more. I don't know what it was, I just got the impression that she wanted to be with Danny more. I mean Rafe came back, and I just felt she wanted to be with Danny

But I liked how it ended, well I will never get over Danny dying.

I've got to agree with Gwen, even though, I thought Danny and her had more chemistry, I felt she loved Rafe more.

Really? When Rafe came back, I got the impression from her when she first saw him that she wanted to be with him again, but then remembered she was pregnant and knew she couldn't. Hence the whole "I'm gonna be with Danny, but will love you my whole life" speech.

The whole scene was heartbreaking. You knew he was going to die but you couldn't help but hope that a miracle would happen.

Thats one of my favorite scenes of the whole movie, as much as I love Josh Hartnett..(ha actually a lot more then Ben Affleck usually) in that movie Rafe and Evelyn owned my heart over Danny/Evelyn big time, I liked them I mean but I LOVED Rafe/Evelyn!
