I find it funny that for a Non-Canon 'ship on a now defunct show, we burn through threads rather quickly. Hehe.

I think one of the authors from that list (LLCoyote) has posted a new Rev story on AO3. It's not Charloe, as it revolved around Connor I think. Anyone read it? Maybe someone should/could drop her a note in the comment section about 'Reluctant Savior'...just an idea.

Also, can a Tumblr person contact Nyxie about her fics? I'm not on Tumblr so I definitely can't.

ETA: The list bums me out too and you're right LadyH, will be much longer now. Sort of why I've been avoiding updating it...

Don't remember who said it on the other thread, but I had no idea normalcy wasn't correct. *scratches head* What should it be?

I think it's awesome. The power of Charloe and all. Not sure anything would have saved the show, but if they'd at least allowed even just a friendship to develop between Charlie and Bass, it might have helped a bit.

Normality is the correct English. Although, normalcy is completely acceptable in American English. To me, it just sounds weird.

Purists will tell you that the word should be "normality."

Normalcy is typically attributed to Pres. Harding and his "return to Normalcy" campaign post WWI. I believe the word was previously used in mathematics, however; something about right angles (normal I think formally meant perpendicular). So I guess it was always a word, but Harding misappropriated it and our vernacular adopted it.

"Normality" is the standard in British English; it's either or in American English.

Interestingly enough, both words were developed around the same time frame, so they are about the same "age."

YES! Love these stories! Though I many have trouble writing coherent comments. But, I'll try my best.

Ah, I see. I think the ONLY time I actually remember hearing normality used is in the original production of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Spoken by the only American in the story, oddly enough.

Yeah, I edited the post with a little more info. Good to know I'm dependable.

I kind of think the biggest stink about normalcy vs. normality has to do with the fact that Harding was hardly an eloquent orator. The speech that the line "return to normalcy" hails from has quite a few, um, WTAH is he talking about moments. So society hasn't changed much: We still like to tear people down whenever we have the chance.

And as for which I prefer: It kind of depends. When I'm speaking, it's whatever my brain picks first. When I'm writing I'll examine the context and just see which one sounds better. Lol. I'm weird. I know this.
