I so agree, Arthur and Morgana could be like Romeo and Juliet if given the chance to be (only less dumb than R&J lol)

I would LOVE if Gwen was portrayed as second best to Morgana in this series. Not even second best though really, like Arthur is only settling for Gwen because he can't have Morgana. Gwen is supposedly the reliable, kind, nice girl, who won't be any trouble unlike Morgana, who is very head-strong and has the ability to shatter his heart

It would be like choosing the safe option rather than the risky option, because falling for Morgana would be no easy ride. Especially if/when Arthur finds out about Morgana's seer abilities. He's be torn between her and his father if the truth came out.

So if they really do have to go down the traditional A/G route, I want it to be shown as the easy option, while he's pining for Morgana the whole time

I actually don't even want him to choose Gwen until he doesn't have the opportuinty to choose Morgana anymore, you know? Like she goes away and he can't find her anymore, and he needs to marry for the kingdom and chooses Gwen because... I don't know why he would choose Gwen actually

No neither do I, I guess choose was the wrong word

That's what I meant though, that Gwen is the last resort kinda thing, when Morgana is out of the picture, because really, it would be Morgana he wants.
He'd have to be pretty desperate to choose Gwen. That sounds mean

I actually can't think of a reason why he's get with Gwen atm. I just can't see him and her together?

I know, it doesn't make sense. At least in the legend where Gwen was a princess/noblewoman you could say it was a political marriage, but how can you make sense of a king marrying a maid?

Exactly. I really have no idea how the writers would go about making it make sense, cos I for one, won't find it believable at all.

At the start, since this Gwen is a maid to Morgana, I thought "well that must mean it's Morgana who's the love interest in this version, not Gwen".

I'm still hoping this version will ignore the A/G marriage

This is from an interview. Yes, it is about the Arthur/Merlin relationship mostly, but it confirms that they aren't going to follow the legend per se.
