Quotes about her Anthony

"Anthony (LaPaglia) is my first Aussie friend in the States. I didn't act in Australia so I never really got to know anyone in the business over here before I went.

"He's an angel on earth and you can put that in big capital letters. I adore him."

"Anthony and Gia, I certainly spend time with them outside of work. We (the cast) all hang out which is a huge thing because you're on set so much together, to actually like each other enough to socialise in your very few hours off is a joy." (from Australia's The Advertiser)

"Anthonyyyyy . . . he's the best, isn't he!

She says (about her pregnancy) that series star Anthony LaPaglia is "thrilled" and "calling me all the time to find out how I'm doing."

"His sense of humour and my sense of humour are very similar," she said. "Sometimes I cannot get through a take because he makes me laugh so much."

TV Week: "I didn't meet him until I signed on, but we had a phone conversation...Anthony called me and I immediately loved him."

"When I was offered the role, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do another series because I had literally just finished one (the short-lived drama Glory Days). Then when I talked to Anthony on the phone about it I was sold. I am such a fan."

"He is one of the coolest people in the world. I go to him for advice and he is very sane and wise. He is a guardian angel to all of us. Words cannot express how much affection I have for him..." (TV Week", July 19, 2003)

"Anthony is hilarious. He's one of the funniest people I've ever met in my life...

"Yea it was actually. I mean when I heard that Anthony was doing it and then I talked to him on the phone¦ They had asked me if I wanted to do it too and as soon as I heard Anthony was on board, I said yes, because I'm such a fan of his; I've always been such a fan of his. He's so talented.

Yeah! Betsy's Wedding! He's fantastic. He's brilliant in it. I love that movie!

I do too. He's a brilliant comedian too, which a lot of people don't know about Anthony but he's so funny and he was so brilliant and funny in that movie. I love that movie." (PM interview Summer 2007)

"I love doing Without a Trace. It's television I'm proud of. And I love working with Anthony. He's just awesome in every way."

Montgomery acknowledges that acting out her character's flaws have been fun. "The relationship between Samantha and Jack came about one moment in the pilot when I went and fixed Anthony's tie," she says. "There was a lot of chemistry."

"He's got that tough thing that makes you feel safe when you're with him, co-star Poppy Montgomery tells Inside TV. "Plus, he's bright, funny, vulnerable and tough. And he's got great hair."

"I love Anthony, and we were all so thrilled for him when he won the Golden Globe!"

To chunder means to vomit. So, you figure it out. It' funny I have the worst singing voice, but I always sing that song [Down Under by Men at Work] on the set. Recently, Anthony [LaPaglia, her costar and fellow Aussie] had this dinner party at his house. And Colin Hay from Men at Work was there. I didn't really know who he was. So Anthony tells him, Why don't you show her how that song is sung? Because she butchers it all the time. Colin whipped out his guitar and started singing. It was beautiful."

The Insider TV: "In only its third year the crime show is doing the impossible: beating 'ER' in the ratings. How'd they do it? Well, there's a little thing called chemistry, between Anthony and co-star Poppy Montgomery, steaming up a chilly New York City night. " Then Poppy says, "He's my angel. He makes every day a joy. We have so much fun, even though the show is really serious."

Article Quotes about Anthony & Poppy

2005's TV Guide's 50 Sexiest Men featuring Anthony LaPaglia describes him as "Rough, tough and tumble..." "smouldering sexuality"

What animal do you most associate with?
Poppy Montgomery says a cockroach. Enrique Murciano just pulls a really weird face. I think maybe he's doing an animal impression but I have no idea what of.

LaPaglia, has been trying to set up his single co-star for over a year. "I've been trying to marry her off to a make-up artist, a guy who also works on the show," he says of Montgomery, who appears on the big screen in next year's romantic comedy, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover. "It's true," confirms Montgomery, who usually refuses to talk about her personal life. "He keeps asking me out for sushi. I keep telling him it's never going to happen. And Anthony keeps encouraging him to keep trying."

"I said by the end of the year there will be wedding invitations," says LaPaglia. "It's not going to happen," insists Montgomery, nipping that prediction in the bud.

Poppy Montgomery Where you've seen her:
The leggy Aussie is now playing Samantha Spade, the FBI missing-persons agent, on the CBS hit series Without a Trace.

"I love men—everything about them: the way they look, the way they smell, the way they feel. I love their minds."

"I was never tomboyish. I loved Barbies. It’s just the way I grew up. We had poisonous spiders and snakes, but we were always running around barefoot. I’m the girliest girl you’ll ever meet."

[CENTER]"Women are supposed to want to settle down and have a family. That’s not for me. I love the idea of saying, on a moment’s notice, 'You want to go to Vegas? Let’s go to Vegas, then." (She's pregnant with her first child which is due in December 2007)

For the past two years, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has rewarded actors coming off their series' freshman seasons. So if recent history is any guide, Anthony LaPaglia of NBC's [sic]"Without a Trace" might soon be in possession of a Golden Globe for best actor in a drama.

Mr. LaPaglia has more than history on his side. "He brings a tremendous sense of weight and gravitas to the show," said executive producer Hank Steinberg. "He has a tough and gruff exterior, but you see in his eyes a tremendous amount of compassion and empathy. He speaks volumes with his eyes."

This prowess is no small feat given the generally dry nature of the genre in which Mr. LaPaglia performs. "It is difficult to get into a character's personal life in procedural dramas, but he shows us what makes his character tick-all while he solves the mystery," Mr. Steinberg said.

Mr. LaPaglia faces some stiff competition, not only from Michael Chiklis of "The Shield" (FX) and Kiefer Sutherland of "24" (Fox), the freshman champions of 2003 and 2002, respectively, but also from perennial Globe nominee Martin Sheen of NBC's "The West Wing" and the formerly overlooked William Petersen of CBS's "CSI." I hope they're both doing well. I hope he called her to learn how's she doing.

There hasn't been any news reports about her current condition nor the baby's.

Well it's good, I think Poppy and the baby deserve some privacy. I'm sure the media will announce the birth!

They may have opted to give a magazine an exclusive pictorial, and they have to honor their agreement to keep the baby incognito.

You know, I have the same feeling about them becoming a real couple offscreen. She adores and loves him to death, and they seemed connected. He must be aware of his affect on her. It would be a beautiful team of soccer kids.

ETA: At least Poppy wouldn't force her to travel to OZ every year just to keep her happy.
