I'm still thinking that Regina masquerade as Rumple because she was the one that gave Belle the dagger (she could have kept the real one). Maybe she didn't want to end up like Rumple (losing Baelfire) so she decided to kill Zelena before she got to Henry. Also, why was Regina smiling in the mansoleum when she was putting up Zelena's pendent. I think there is something suspecious going on in Storybrooke especially with Zelena's death.

Or Zelena's death was a dream that Rumple was having. Remember the dream that Rumple had about killing Henry, Henry turned into glass like Zelena did. So he could have been dreaming about killing Zelena but doesn't go through with it.

It could be a dream in a sense. Possibly RUmple is so affected by what happened to him that he was sleeping when he killed her. All he said and did was his sub-conscience

He just got out of being Zelena's prisoner and the death of his son. I don't think he is scheming anything. This answer from the writers probably meant what is going through his head after he got freed from Zelena and how he will cope with Bae's death next season.

I think once we see all the clutter in his head and the complicated mess that it is. We'll just be wanting to hug him more.

You may be right. I just have a feeling that he is planning to bring Bae back, or prevent his death, with this time travel thing. Because would he really allow himself to have a "happy" ending when his son didn't get one? I'm not entirely sure..

I think he knows the consequences of messing with time and the butterfly effect. He rejected Zelena' s proposal to go back to get his son before.

I hope that he wouldn't tamper with time or death. He may be single minded and have severe tunnel vision at times but I think he's too smart to go that route.
