I have a question and it's probably a stupid one..
So if Francis and Mary had a child.. does he rule both France and Scotland or does one heir get one country and another heir gets the other one?

I believe their heir would have gotten both. The way Mary's son eventually ruled both Scotland and England.

Yeah that's right. Unless they designated something different.

I assume they'll include this at some point, but 20 days prior to their marriage she pledges Scotland to France if she died without issue.

They could actually do that back then? Say the first born son gets France, second son gets Scotland?

Was she tricked into that? From the show standpoint I could see her do that because (minus this whole prophecy gambit) Francis and Mary are so in love. I believe she'd believe that if something happened to her, Francis would never let Scotland fall.

History wise.. He was sickly. So did Henry put some pressure on her for this?

I would love for Mary and Francis to have a baby. If Francis is supposed to die, she would at least have something of him, and not just memories.

IMO, it's pretty clear that Mary and Francis are THE thing of the show, I mean, just look at how they've been written. I think the writers are very concious of that. But it's a CW show; unfortunately, they're forced to play with relationships because the channel wants that. And because honestly, it seems like triangles are so common, there must be one everywhere. Yet, being believable is another story.

unfortunately I would be surprised if that happen. I can see her possibly getting pregnant but I doubt she will carry it full of term.

honestly their is only a few shows on the CW that doesn't play with relationships where one of the characters isn't with everybody else. It is Nikita (which just ended) and Supernatural (where the fandom pretty much hates the females). I will admit their is some shows on the CW I wish followed that format a bit more, and less on GG, TVD type shows.

No one pressured her, it was basically an agreement between her uncles and Henry, both parties found it beneficial at the time. Keep in mind that, at that stage, historically Mary saw no future that Francis wasn't a part of. From the moment they married she acknowledged him as King consort of Scotland and fought for him to have the matrimonial crown in her country (the only one of her husbands she did that for).

In France Francis gave Mary's uncles great power in French government, meaning for a time the Guises and Stuarts actually ruled France, in practice.

Francis was sickly, but few realize, so was Mary.

I could totally see this a story line and it would be tragic and heartbreaking. And it would just ring more true on the prophecy for Mary.
