ღ The Couples Championship ღ - Vote for your favourite Non-television couples! - Voting is over!
Welcome to the Couples Championship Round One Non-television Category Last week, you voted on couples in the Sci-fi/Fantasy category. I am pleased to announce the winners of each group - the couples that will go through to the Final of the Sci-fi/Fantasy category. They are: Stefan and Caroline (The Vampire Diaries) Damon and Elena (The Vampire Diaries) Spike and Buffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) Fourth place in this category has been awarded to Jack and Kate from Lost. Congratulations to all of these couples! Commiserations to those couples that missed out. The Final will be carried out in a few weeks time. But first, it's time to vote in the Non-television category! I'll explain how this round works. In each category, the 15 couples are sorted by virtue of a random draw into three groups of five ships. You will vote for your favourite ship in each group. After a week the votes will be counted and the couple with the most votes in each group will go through to the final, to face off against each other. We will do one category at a time, but all three groups together. So you can vote once in each group. Here are the groups: GROUP A: Jack/Rose (Titanic) Rhett/Scarlett (Gone With the Wind) Landon/Jamie (A Walk To Remember) James/Lily (Harry Potter) Darcy/Elizabeth (Pride and Prejudice) GROUP B: Noah/Allie (The Notebook) Gale/Katniss (The Hunger Games) Jack/Elizabeth (Pirates of the Carribean) Peeta/Katniss (The Hunger Games) Harry/Ginny (Harry Potter) GROUP C: Ron/Hermione (Harry Potter) Jacob/Bella (Twilight) Edward/Bella (Twilight) Harry/Hermione (Harry Potter) Harry/Luna (Harry Potter) Vote for your favourite couple in each of the groups. And I'm going to mention this again later, but as I can see from miles away what a potential minefield Group C is, I'm going to make this clear: THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO BASHING WHATSOEVER. But first, READ THESE RULES! RULES: 1) Seriously, read all of these rules. 2)You must have at least 50 posts before you can vote. 3) You may only vote once, for a maximum of ONE couple in each group. You don't have to vote in every group if you don't want to. 4) Every vote must be formatted so it is very clear who you are voting for in each group. The suggested format is in quote tags at the bottom. I will allow some leeway, but any major deviations from that format will not be counted. If you do not format your vote clearly, your vote will not be counted. I will not contact you to correct it. The only reason for not using the correct format is if you hadn't read the rules, which is a violation of Rule #1 anyway.. 5) ABSOLUTELY NO BASHING OF ANY KIND. I mean this. This is a positive thread for supporting couples, bashing of ships will not be tolerated. 6) NO BASHING OF OTHER SHIPPERS. Play nicely. 7) No "tactical voting" or lobbying against a particular ship. 8) If you have any complaints, contact me or a moderator. Do not bring it into this thread. 9) Do not openly accuse any other shipper or group of shippers of cheating or causing trouble. If you have concerns, please do contact me or a moderator, but do not bring it into the forums. 10) Do not reply to anyone who breaks the rules in this thread. Simply ignore them or PM me, and they will be dealt with in private. 11) From now on, any who breaks any one of rules 5-10, however slightly, will be punished by having their votes discounted. ANYONE WHO BREAKS THESE RULES WILL BE PUNISHED. IF WE FIND THREE PROVEN INSTANCES OF EXTREME BASHING, LOBBYING OR ANY OTHER EGREGIOUS VIOLATION, YOUR COUPLE MAY BE ELIMINATED FROM THE COMPETITION. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. On a lighter note - have fun! Feel free to support your ships! Post arts, videos and essays. Tell people why your ship is the best and should be voted for. Invite people from other boards to come and vote. This competition is about loving your couples, so enjoy yourself. Quote:
