Round One
Sci-fi/Fantasy Category


Last week, you voted on couples in the Comedy category. I am pleased to announce the winners of each group - the couples that will go through to the Final of the Comedy category. They are:

Barney and Robin (How I Met Your Mother)
Ross and Rachel (Friends)
Monica and Chandler (Friends)

Fourth place in the Comedy category has been awarded to Hyde and Jackie from That 70's Show.

Congratulations to all of these couples! Commiserations to those couples that missed out. The Final will be carried out in a few weeks time. But first, it's time to vote in the Sci-fi category!

I'll explain how this round works. In each category, the 15 couples are sorted by virtue of a random draw into three groups of five ships. You will vote for your favourite ship in each group. After a week the votes will be counted and the couple with the most votes in each group will go through to the final, to face off against each other. We will do one category at a time, but all three groups together. So you can vote once in each group.

This is going to be an exciting round, I can tell. It's going to be very close all around. Here are the groups:

Mary/David [Snow/Charming] (Once Upon a Time)
Tyler/Caroline (The Vampire Diaries)

Vote for your favourite couple in each of the groups.

But first, READ THESE RULES!

RULES:
1) Seriously, read all of these rules.
2)You must have at least 50 posts before you can vote.
3) You may only vote once, for a maximum of ONE couple in each group. You don't have to vote in every group if you don't want to.
4) Every vote must be formatted so it is very clear who you are voting for in each group. The suggested format is in quote tags at the bottom. I will allow some leeway, but any major deviations from that format will not be counted.
If you do not format your vote clearly, your vote will not be counted. I will not contact you to correct it. The only reason for not using the correct format is if you hadn't read the rules, which is a violation of Rule #1 anyway..
5) If you want to change your votes or add votes to groups you didn't vote for at first, you will need to PM me with a link to your original post and tell me your new votes. I'm counting up the votes as they come in so if you simply edited your post it's likely I would have already counted it and would miss the edited version.
6) ABSOLUTELY NO BASHING OF ANY KIND. I mean this. This is a positive thread for supporting couples, bashing of ships will not be tolerated.
7) NO BASHING OF OTHER SHIPPERS. Play nicely.
8) No "tactical voting" or lobbying against a particular ship.
9) If you have any complaints, contact me or a moderator. Do not bring it into this thread.
10) Do not openly accuse any other shipper or group of shippers of cheating or causing trouble. If you have concerns, please do contact me or a moderator, but do not bring it into the forums.
11) Do not reply to anyone who breaks the rules in this thread. Simply ignore them or PM me, and they will be dealt with in private.
12) From now on, any who breaks any one of rules 6-11, however slightly, will be punished by having their votes discounted.

ANYONE WHO BREAKS THESE RULES WILL BE PUNISHED. IF WE FIND THREE PROVEN INSTANCES OF EXTREME BASHING, LOBBYING OR ANY OTHER EGREGIOUS VIOLATION, YOUR COUPLE MAY BE ELIMINATED FROM THE COMPETITION. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.


On a lighter note - have fun! Feel free to support your ships! Post arts, videos and essays. Tell people why your ship is the best and should be voted for. Invite people from other boards to come and vote. This competition is about loving your couples, so enjoy yourself.
