He has 2 older brothers (middle brother died at birth) and was raised Baptist. Costner was not academically inclined. Rather, he enjoyed sports, took piano lessons, wrote poetry and sang in the First Baptist Choir. He has stated that a viewing of the film How the West Was Won at the age of seven had "formed" his childhood. At 18, he built his own canoe and paddled his way down the rivers that Lewis & Clark followed to the Pacific. Despite his present height, he was only 5'2" when he graduated high school. I sensed that they would have had a richer life together and that NO ONE would have been able to use her or take advantage of her. Whitney is surely beautiful as a person and physically and I believe that Kevin would not have strayed being married to her (but for America and Hollywood) they were not ready for these two to be in an authentic relationship or marriage. Kevin and Whitney would have shared more of a joy and appreciation together as a couple and Whitney would not have felt insecure about anything with Kevin and Kevin would have become more and enriched as a result. I have always believed that who we are married to either makes us a better person or drags us down. They would have encouraged each other and both would have been stronger together as a married and in love couple. The company that Whitney kept may have even depressed her after being with Kevin and in needing a better person like Kevin. She would be alive today but for the hindrances of life and he would have been a strong shoulder to watch over her as well. I saw a post from Lipstickalley from Juliette Hope and she wrote: I think it was very sweet of Kevin to say that---he said if he had a wish he would bring Whitney BACK to make a sequel, not do a remake with someone else....And no, nobody should be re-doing the Bodyguard and I don't think Kevin would ever even tarnish Whitney's memory by making a sequel. When I heard his speech at her funeral it was obvious he was in love with her. When I look at out-takes of the Bodyguard filming its clear that Kevin & Whitney had chemistry, I'm sorry. And nobody can sit here and tell me that God wanted Bobby Brown to be Whitney's husband, I'm sorry. That marriage should never have been.. Kevin divorced his wife later on, so it was clear their marriage was over....
I believe Kevin & Whitney should have gotten married, I really do. __________________

I found another post on Lipstickalley by Leo2Leo it says: The chemistry and affection between both are so apparent.Costner seems like he would of been the better mate for her. He seemed like he genuinely cared for her and probably would of been protective of her had they tried being a couple.May she R.I.P. i am sorry she died the way she did and there will be no one like her ever again.
