Kevin was born in Lynwood, California, on January 18, 1955, the third child of Bill Costner, a ditch digger and ultimately an electric line servicer for Southern California Edison, and Sharon Costner. He has 2 older brothers (middle brother died at birth) and was raised Baptist. Costner was not academically inclined. Rather, he enjoyed sports, took piano lessons, wrote poetry and sang in the First Baptist Choir. He has stated that a viewing of the film How the West Was Won at the age of seven had "formed" his childhood. At 18, he built his own canoe and paddled his way down the rivers that Lewis & Clark followed to the Pacific. Despite his present height, he was only 5'2" when he graduated high school. Nonetheless, he still managed to be a basketball, football and baseball star. In 1973, he enrolled at California State University at Fullerton, where he majored in business. (more info here)

Whitney Houston was born into a musical family on 9 August 1963, in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston and ex-army serviceman John Houston. Her cousin is singing star Dionne Warwick. She has 2 older brothers. Whitney began singing in the choir at her church, The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, as a young child and by the age of 15 was singing backing vocals professionally with her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 hit, 'I'm Every Woman'. She went on to provide backing vocals for Lou Rawls, Jermaine Jackson and her own mother and worked briefly as a model, appearing on the cover of 'Seventeen' magazine in 1981.

Her debut album, 'Whitney Houston', was released in 1985 and became the biggest-selling album by a debut artist. Several hit singles, including 'Saving All My Love For You', 'How Will I Know', 'You Give Good Love', and 'The Greatest Love of All', were released from the album, setting her up for a Beatles-beating seven consecutive US number ones. The album itself sold 3 million copies in its first year in the US and went on to sell 25 million worldwide, winning her the first of her six Grammies. (more info here)

Whitney didn't know what to do. She had been feeling sick these last days, but she couldn't tell anyone about it. Not even Kevin. What would he think about her. Since that day she hadn't been able to have a friendly talk with Kevin. Both were so busy with the film. She had to record the songs for the soundtrack, so she had little time left to talk with him. Robyn would arrive today and that would be a change. Maybe Robyn could give her some advice about what to do with her sickness.
Robyn arrived later that day, she spent the whole day on the film set watching Whitney and the others act. She then went with Whitney to the recording studio. It was a hectic day for Whitney. They were now in her trailer talking, before Robyn would go to her hotel.
Nippy, you look so tired.
I am tired. I have been feeling sick these last days.
How come? Haven't you told Kevin about how you feel?
No, I don't want to delay the shooting schedule.
Are you feeling alright now?

I just stumbled into it on YouTube this evening. The part about TBG starts at 24:00, if you want to skip through.

Interestingly, one interviewer says Whitney and Kevin never even met or got to know each other until pre-production for the film. (Uh, what about that screen test before she did the knockout version of The Star-Spangled Banner and then went on tour for IYBT?) And she claims Whitney says she didn't want to get to know Kevin until production started. That's not right at all, as we know. If Whitney wasn't interested in Kevin as a person or as a professional, she never would have made The Bodyguard.

Overall, the documentary is ... meh. A few inaccuracies here and there, and you don't get a ton of new insight into Whitney the person.

(Little tidbit, one of the participants said there wasn't a lot of chemistry between her and Denzel Washington during filming of "The Preacher's Wife." I don't believe that, though. I think the chemistry between them was very sweet and on target, even if it didn't compete with Kevin in TBG. And apparently, Bobby was threatened by Denzel, and made a nuisance of himself on the set, vying for her attention.)
