Reporter (R): 50 years Scorpions. At the moment there is an unbelievable world tournee. Although they're on vacation at the moment, two of them are with us at the moment.

Introvideo: 50 years, 5000 concerts, 100000000 sold records. at the begining, he was "Bundeskanzler", Ludwig Erhard. Unbelievable. The Scorpions, back then and now. The stage is burning. Concerts in 80 countries. France, Finland, NewYork, Rio, Tokyo, VladiVostok and Yakutz... and at home in Germany, the wall fell. That's the sound of world history ("Wind of change" is played), And this the sound of our small lifes history ( boys and girls swaying to "Still loving you"). 50 years, 5000 conceerts, 100000000 sold records, and its going on and on.

R: Two of the Scorpions are with us today. Matthias (M) and Klaus (K). Good morning. We are jocking about the places we sit, because they placed us two like to cuddle, but they say it looks fantastic on screen. Are you lonley over there? (to Klaus)

K: A little bit.

R: That isn't meant rude (). The Scorpions are on vacation, but not you. What happened?

K: Vacation? We don't know that word. It's just a little Winterhiatous.

M: Where does that word (Urlaub) come from? Does it come from forrest and leaves? (Laub)

R: We think that could be, at least Heinz Erhard(an ol German comedian) told us so once.

M: Why are we making vacation? That's another question, but we are in preperation for the Tour that is lying ahead of us.

R: But you're on tour now for about 50 years, and we had a collegue here this morning saying sometime back in the 70s, he's heard something about that there was JAzz infolved? Or isn't that true? Does he remember something wrong?

M: I can remember some jazz, but that were other people.

K: In our first album 1972 were titles like "Action" (humms) that's what he could have meant.

R: You collect uite a few things in 50 years. Where you yourself a bit astound to hear about 50 years, like "holy ****?"

K: When you hear that number with the 5 in front you say OMG! On the other hand you enter a club of other bands like "The Rolling Stones" or "The Who" and only a few others, and so it is really great.

R: You're been on so many stages, is there a country, or a stage or a club where you really want to play again?

M: Yes. We have one little problem to solve in that 50 years anniversary tour and that's australia.

R: Why is that a problem?

M: Because "The Scorpions" have never been to Australia before.

R: Can't be!

M: I was in Sidney, with a guitar in a hotelroom, but that doesn't count. So, we've been to Australia, but we want to play there. Same with South Africa. And those are the two countries that we have missing on our list and we will cover those blind spots on our worldmap.

K: We've played in "Nomea"(?). That is close to a place on a french speaking Island in Africa. We came back from Asia then and you saw Peugeots getting out of the plane in Africa. And on the way back, we made a stop over in Sidney, and the feeling was so phantastic, that we said we have to come back. MAtthias wanted to unpack his guitar right there at the airport, so we can say we played in Ausralia.

R: Today it would be possible to fake that. You just could stand anywhere and pretend to be in Australia.

M: Nooooo we will make it real

R: What is your highlight, your top 1?

K: For sure for both of us Top 1 are the shows we did in Madison Square Garden as headliner 1984.Where MAtthias and I said, that is for us and the band a special moment and we want to share that with our parents. And we flew our parents to NY, their first flight ever for my parents and the white limo was waiting on the airport. That was in all the special moments, in all those years, the best. A very intense memory.

R: can you remember what happende on January 24th 2010?

M: Birthday of many people?

K: I think I can remember.

R: There was a rumor that you wanted to retire.

K/M: That was in January? We thought that as February or March

R: But seriously. Is retireing a toppic for you?

K: That wasn't a toppic in 2010, but we've been on a point back then, where we wanted to break out of that endless circle of concerts, studio etc. And we had the feeling of having enough . Looking back it would have been better to say we need a break, and we are back now. We knew it would take a while for us to come back with a world tour. And a lot has changed in those years. The joy to play and the fun for the music and to see the fans came back.

M: We said "retireing" too early.

R: That's good to hear and to have you back.
