I guess since it was a US show they did, just as the original UK version was only that market.

There were certainly a few references in QaF UK that were not only specific to the time, but also to Manchester. Very funny if you knew that culture ~ bemusing if you didn't!

I loved it! I learned a lot. For instance, they call take-away, what we call take-out. And then there's "copped off".

Oh wow... wasn't aware how much they left you guys out of the loop with so many things.

When I was younger, my mother would make me watch it all the time... well her and Carol Burnnett. Of course I wasn't around when either one of the shows had their original run, so she bought the the DVD collections and totally schooled me. And now I absolutely adore both those shows. They just don't make television like that anymore.

Love it! I think it's cute and interesting concerning the term, "pissed" Here in the states it's term used to describe a degree of anger or emotion vs. in the UK it's used to describe one's level of inebriation or "alcohol consumption level". That's very interesting. Similarly both terms are used to describe a maximum state of being. Very interesting.

When you use "p*ssed" we use "p*ssed off"! Although a lot of people now use "s**tfaced" or "rat~arsed" for being drunk ~ I certainly do!

Both the UK and US got such colorful slang words.
