I just looked it up it and the only things that came up was a proposition from the 60's to do with race, and QAF references...so it looks like it was a QaF thing.
Wasn't it something to do with taking away rights of gay couples etc...so they can't have the same things like insurance etc that married couples do? It's been ages since I watched S5 so can't remember too much. __________________

I think sometimes Qaf tried to apply things that could happen in real life to the show.

Well there was a proposition in L.A.
 I don't remember the number... but it was about gays and their right to get married. __________________

I don't know if the proposition was exactly true, but I believe there have been similar propositions anyway, sadly.

There's that sequence of Justin and the others who are fighting against the proposition, in which they see that car passing with that woman shouting against homosexuals. That's a scene that always gets to me, the look into Justin's eyes.

Another anti- gay issue was very present in the Lorreta storyline, actually. It's one of my least fav storylines in the entire show but if you come to think of it it was also about a person who had to go through a lot of hate and abuse because of her sexual identity. Even though it was an important issue it took over some of the other key storyline in S5, imo. __________________
