It's a never ending slippery slope of fast technological advancement. We're becoming too advanced, I'm afraid. That's one of the things I pay attention to whenever I watch QAF or other older shows... is getting reminded of how the technology existed back then. The cell phones they had are now long gone. It's interesting to see how much has changed since 2007 or before.

it really is amazing.. the technology is the only thing that gives away the age of the show

Yes...I miss when technology didn't rule our lives. I hate seeing people so glued to their cell phones, for example. It bothers me...like on a visceral level.

In both getting pissed off and deeply disturbed...

I love the old technology scene on the show. That bulky-backed Apple computer Michael has in his comic book shop is just... nostalgia overload.

But the laptop computers looked very similar to ones we have today, but nowhere as fast or sleek.

That's something I really love about it (and other shows from the same time period), too.

I always chuckle when Brian's chatting with tricks online in season 1. Those corny "loading" sounds the put in as the image downloads on the screen, for example.

I don't think computers ever actually sounded like that...

But back in the day, shows and movies always made it seem that way.

I love how by the time we get to season 5, they're only just now getting those silver flip phones that remind me of my first ever cell phone.

Yeah, I'm so happy I was born when there wasn't any technology we have now. I remember I didn't want to have a cellphone and my mother made my father to buy me one.

and it was so different from actual ones

I wouln't mind if I would be born even few years earlier.... I appreciate cellphones and computers but at the same time I'm so happy when I can go for a trip with my friends, especially camping, no signals... Just nature and people. Miss it on the daily basics and it's so sad how life is changing now, how people forget about life instead of technology.

The UK soundtrack is pretty easy to search on YouTube.

I don't have a playlist saved.

And yes, I love that they use VHS, too.

I actually ordered QAF season 1 on VHS...just cause it seemed so deliciously oldschool and I wanted it.
