Thanks for the screen cap, Star.
One of the things I noticed…the scene in S1 where Brian is getting his pain management after the blowout with Melanie, is red for passion. He was visibly shaken by Mel's horrible accusations. But in this scene blue was used and it showed Brian cold and not being able to feel. I just thought the contrast of emotions through the use of colors was brilliant.   __________________

A very good observation
 they did a good job in using the lightning to express emotions.The fight he had in season two made him angry and he wanted to channel his anger with this little orgy. In this moment in season 2 he was lost... he blamed himself for what happened. I think he wasn't not able to feel, it was too much he was feeling and he tried to shut it out, with more or less success... __________________
