I think Justin had real feelings for Ethan, but nothing comparable to what he felt for Brian. I also think Justin's feelings for Ethan were based on a lie anyway, because Ethan wasn't what he pretended to be. Sure he was romantic, full of words and all that, but he didn't really cherish Justin as he pretended to do. When it came to the point, his first thought was always himself. Justin thought he was a different person, that the words and romantic gesture came with a person more capable of love. That failed relationship made his realize it's not words and romanticism that makes love real. Sure, they can be part of it and it's nice when they are, but being romantic and saying the words don't imply you're really in love. I think that's something Justin learnt.
