There were so many times throughout this season where David's smug attitude really caused me to skip through their scenes. I'm sure he was a warm man inside, but he had what was a seemingly cold exterior. I'm not trying to bash the character... I mean, he had his good moments too. It's just that he thought Michael was a child and they were not really equals in the relationship. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

I agree. Maybe it was their age difference though that necessarily doesn't mean anything. Look at Brian and Justin. Now, they obviously have their own set of issues but I don't think Brian ever looked down on him. David did treat Michael more like a child, like you said.

Brian and Justin probably had more years between them in an age difference then Michael and David did, and they seemed to get a long famously. I just think it was David's attitude that put a damper on things.

I agree - it was David's attitude that really was the problem - Brian knew Justin was young but I think he also saw how mature he was for his age.

Exactly. And he treated him like an equal. Unless he was being a dk on purpose.

very true just because someone is young, it doesn't mean he can't think or act for himself. but I also think that it was the way David always acted. just think about his son, who didn't want to have all his time planned out.. David just run over people without seeing the damage he did..

Very true - his son didn't like his behaviour or attitude either and when Michael did something different with his son he got mad at him because he didn't follow his schedule

David could be suffocating. It took Michael bringing it to his attention for David to realize his son wasn't for it.

And yet took Michael longer to figure out that David was doing it to him too.

Yeah I think so too Daggi - he didn't want to go home and admit he had "failed" which he hadn't.

that is very true.. and he was giving up himself more or less with the decition to follow Dave.. knowing he wouldn't be really happy all alone.. he obviously was quite desperate in a way

Agree with this too - desperate to get over Brian so he takes on Michael even though he treats him like he does.
