Queer As Folk: 16th Anniversary Celebration ~ December 3, 2000…Coming and staying was the best idea ever.
  Wow…where has the time gone? It has already been 16 years since the show premiered on Showtime and its still gaining new fans every day. Queer As Folk still has a strong online presence on Fan Forum, YouTube, Live Journal, Facebook and even Twitter…AND kept alive through conventions, fan meets and by all of the fantastic writers of fanfiction in our fandom at sites like Midnight Whispers, AO3, Kinnetik Dreams and other wonderful fanfic archives. Who would have ever thought? It took me almost 8 more years till I started watching. But the moment I started, I couldn't stop anymore. I felt like I was a part of that family and I could find myself in some kind of way, in every single character. I also got a lot of insights of the LGBT community of which I didn't know it existed in that way, although I had and still have friends who belong in it. This show teaches so much about love and tolerance and the content is timeless. In my eyes, Queer As Folk is one of the best drama shows ever brought on screen.
