A very young Dermot O'Leary there who has been the UK X Factor host from day one .. and has a Saturday afternoon radio show that showcases all the music that never gets onto mainstream radio .. and he tries to get it out there! I love Dermot for the facets that he is! __________________

I love Charlie so much. He's just as charming now as he was when he was 18.

What a great video! Charile is adorable. I may just have to go down the path of looking into QAF UK interviews now...
I'd love to hear more commentary from you, Debs, about his accent. It's hard for me to explain what I am hearing not being from Britain. Is it more British or less British? Regional? I feel like he doesn't now how to pronounce "r's" in the recent 2014-2015 stuff. But that could me my "American" take on it. |

Regional, definitely! Have to say that I've not actually seen that many interviews with the UK cast .. something I must look into too!

When I first watched QAF UK, there were so many little terms that I didn't understand…like "copped off" and "take-away". There were others too.

Same here with the US version! "Copped off" is a hook up and "take~away" it take~out .. But the cultural refs in UK were second nature to me whereas I had no idea about things like Em ~ "The Professor or Gilligan" ?? Or Brian ~ "Should we hum the theme from Jeopardy" ? Glad to know that we've both been baffled by these things .. __________________

It is fun to read about the differences between Britain and America and have to admit most of those don't come up with me I guess thats the possitive factor not to have english as mother language... you get best of both worlds, and I haven't seen Gilligans Island, but I know it, and we had Jeopardy overe here too with the same music, and it is a running gag here too to hum it when something takes too long

Daggi - What an interesting third perspective! Never thought about that. But certainly, there are definite US vs. UK references. And even the Aussies have their own set of English words! Now there's an idea! How about an Australian QAF? ... I'm not serious, of course, my vote after all these years would be for a US reboot, not an entirely new show, but how cool if they had done an Australian version 15 years ago?

I know that both have their own phrases and words, but I don't really think about it, and probably use both mixed up whlie writing here. I hear the difference in the sound but as I said, I don't really pay attention about phrases and words. I don't know if that is good or bad

That's a great interview! He's so cute and so funny. Lots of Charlie's accents there... reminding me how much his American accent bothered me on Sons of Anarchy...

He was playing an American but he did not sound American. Especially because he has trouble pronouncing the "R" sounds.
