Is it just me? I've tried to read other fanfictions and it just doesn't work for me. It's only QAF fanfics that speak to me.

Funny you should mention it, Gemstone
the only non B/J fiction I read in the past year or so are two great books I bought in Scotland last summer. I bought another book last week so I might try to stay away from B/J fiction for a while On the other hand- I read exclusivly in English. I just can't stand our local authors here recently, so reading B/J fiction is an added bonus. __________________

well, yes.
QaF is the 4th fandom for me of which I like reading ff. When I was 14 I started writing myself. I didn't know that it was called fan fiction and it was about a Paul McCartney concert. Other stuff came later. Nine years ago, Dick Turpin (a BBC show from the late 70s) and the internet made me discover that there are other people who do the same. Five years ago, The Hardy Boys made me aware how superior ff can be to the original books/show and how nice it is to talk to the authors Sherlock made stop reading other stuff. My librarian started to wonder why I refused to take home my regular amount of books. Only textbooks still had a chance. The fandom made me go back to writing. ... and QaF ... well, QaF is the ff that I can't possibly get enough of. I stopped reading EVERYTHING else. There's just one Sherlock ff that I come back to once in a while. It's a WIP and when the next part is up I go back. It's my #1 Sherlock ff. But apart from that? Non Nothing but QaF. Every possible minute. Day and night. |

QaF was the first fanfic I ever read and it's the only fanfic I ever read
I just can't bring myself to read others...besides it would confuse me, it's bad enough as it is wondering which Fanfic I had read something from, adding other shows/characters would confuse me even more! Someone asked me a while ago if I read Glee Fanfic...I was like 'why would I want to read that?!' __________________

I love Glee but I would never consider reading or writing fics about them. I wrote a B/J related fic for my beta once (because she's a B/J and Glee fan )
Also, maybe it's just me but I'm not a huge fan of cross over fics (like when there are two fandoms combined ) I wrote a couple of TSC/B/J fics but that didn't last long and I can NEVER read (nor write ) an Adam Lambert fic. Oh, wait I wrote one way back but it was about Justin meeting Adam and having a 'fan boy' moment __________________

I'm not a huge Kurt or 'Klaine' fan so if I did read Glee Fanfic it would limit me somehow!
I read a B/J fic a long long time ago that featured Adam (I can't remember much about it as it was when I first joined the fandom) I wonder if it was yours! __________________

I'm a big Adam Lambert Fan and saw some Lambert fics the other day, but it just doesn't work for me. I don't like real life characters fics, that's why I don't read Gale/Randy etc fics. It doesn't feel true and somehow feel invasive, exactly what I felt with the Adam/Sauli fic. It's like its way too personal, as if I'm looking at something that's none of my business. QAF fic does not feel that way

I racked my brains to find the best way to keep track of all the fics which I've read so far.
Tagging them doesn't help, writing it down in a notebook doesn't help, storing them in different files doesn't help. And trying to remember them in my brain doesn't help either Now I came up with the idea to rec them in my lj account which would kill two (three) birds with one stone a) I can look them easily b) it boosts my lj account c) maybe others will pick up the one or the other fic to read themselves |
