I re-watched their wedding scene and it was so sweet. It felt almost dream-like. Maybe that is because the Sarah McLaughlin tune accompanying the scene. I don't. It was very nice, though. You can see they really love each other.

I must admit, Mel and Linds as a couple have really grown on me over my past few complete series watches. When I first started, they were just kind of a part of the show I tolerated, while waiting for it to get back to "the guys". I think this is partly the original writers' fault, because the characters really aren't fleshed out well until they're about to get married. All of season 1 they just kind of exist to demand things from Brian and give him a hard time. They don't seem to have any depth til mid-season 2.
But now I've grown to actually care about them. Mel is probably still my least favorite character of the main group (B/M/J/E/T/L/M), though. But when they go through their breakup in season 4, I legit feel sad. I could spend a whole post going into that specific situation, but I'll save it. As a lesbian myself, however, I must say that their sex scenes really disappoint, 99% of the time. Perhaps a team of gay male writers didn't know how to properly capture lesbian sex, or maybe the actresses just didn't have much sexual chemistry. IDK. But the difference between QAF's lesbian scenes and The L Word's, for example, it's just staggering. Such a disappointment. The show really could've fulfilled me in a ~different~ way, had these been better. ...that being said, the scene where Mel cheats on Linds is hot, and there are a couple of M/L scenes that I find hot and convincing. But alas, it's only a couple. __________________

Yeah, you can't really expect much from a team of writers who happen to be mostly men. Sometimes I wonder why they even included Melanie and Lindsay if they were not going to do them justice. I dislike how they dressed them, too. So dowdy while most of the time the men's fashion was very much up to par.
The sex scenes did not always feel as organic as it could have, but I appreciate the actresses doing what they could with what they got. Which really wasn't much. And yes, sometimes the chemistry wasn't always there. I can count on one hand the amount of times one of their intimate moments has made me blush. I think the lack of heat can possibly attributed to Lindsay possibly being bi. I could be incredibly wrong, but that's just something I've always picked up. Yeah, that scene where Melanie cheated on Lindsay is such an exception. Never mind the other scene in S4 where Lindsay cheats on Melanie with Sam Aurebach. __________________

There just wasn't any heat between them. They looked like they were TRYING to sell it, but I ain't buyin' it. The only time there is heat...is when they're cheating on each other. Which brings me back to my maybe the actresses just didn't have chemistry theory.
That being said, there's one M/L scene where Mel is pulling Linds towards her, and Linds is grabbing onto the headboard... Unff. That was well done. I agree that they could've been dressed better, too. CowLip claim they weren't going for a butch/femme dynamic, but Mel is CLEARLY butch and Linds...well, I dunno about Linds. __________________

Yeah, S1 was them kinda there to have Brian feed off more people and to have him around his kid. They did eventually flesh the girls out more. And I enjoyed their dynamics with the boys.
These two were kinda like the "stable" relationship of the gang. Was nice to see. Though there was too much drama and whatnot for me. __________________
