I just felt that they did Ethan a disservice by him just disappearing without a fight for Justin. Literally he just disappeared...never to be seen again. I think his character was too important for that. Maybe he was just a plot device, but to me a very important plot device since he was a catalyst for Brian and Justin's relationship to become deeper.
Does that make sense? __________________

Yes, I didn't like his ending either. He was just like "Okay, bye". And then he's never even MENTIONED again. I would've loved even a snide comment about him from Brian towards the end of the series or something.

That I couldn't understand too.. he didn't even put some effort in getting him back.. I mean he said he was his muse and his love.. and nothing?
sad that the writers didn't give him more credit.. and I haven't looked, but maybe some fanfic writers filled plotholes? __________________

I appreciate how Ethan and Justin are both artists and how they express their affection towards each other. It would seem to be the perfect artsy union at first glance hadn't it not been for the contrived elements at play here.They had all the right ingredients to have one of the most endearing stories on the show, but the circumstances surrounding this relationship is quite troubling. Brian and Justin needed a break from one another to find themselves, and I think that's why it was important he had this thing with Ethan. I just hate how it starts.

In my eyes the art is what causes those problems, maybe for both..
Justin, as a graphic perxon, wants to experience for himself what he sees in paintings and probably persons he looks at. Love and romance, which comes in so many different shades that he didn't see them in Brian. Ethan had already found his true love in his music, and nobody probably will ever get this place in his heart. it is not the carreer, that came along with it, but I think he would always put his music on the first place, and the lover would always be on the second one.. __________________
