I think they have a point though because there are times when a smilie can totally kill a conversation because there's nothing you can add coming along behind some of them .. except to move on to the next thread or change the conversation.

Debs has a point about sometimes smilies alone can be a conversation killer. Like she says, sometimes it's okay…just not all the time. So please don't feel self-conscious about it.

It used to be called "star posting". This was when posters would just slam boards with smilies, just to raise their post-count. This is one of the reasons the rule was put in place.

It's not perfect, but I tried to make one for you. I don't know how to make a Vine, and can't figure out how to loop it, but here it is…
