I want to repost the FFG bonus scenes from the last thread, for those who would like to see them…and the interview Star posted.

Thanks for that, Deborah and Star.

I'm watching FFG right. I can't stand Andrew's father, such an inconsiderate jerk he is. Definitely one of my least favorite characters of the film, but then... he's not supposed to be that likeable because he's one of the antagonists. He's still a creep, though.

The Andrew/Grace extras are beautiful ~ I wish they'd kept them in the film!

I agree with you Denise about Barrington Snr. .. it's a prevalent theme through Gale's earlier work .. having unfeeling fathers!

Barrington Sr. UGH!

I love how Drew Sr. did not have the slightest idea what Grace was actually capable of. She had connections in and around China town, and all the right set of circumstances she needed in front of her to stop him. Not even mentioning the fact that her own mother worked in one of the sweatshops he was trying to monopolize, which doubled the incentive.

What was even more delicious to me was that he was completely oblivious to the fact his own son was secretly collaborating w/Grace on a plan to foil that sinister plot he had going with Kerry Mills. Dad was completely and utterly clueless... and I loved ever minute of it. Whahaha!

BTW, I HATE he way he talked down to her in that meeting. Utterly ridiculous.

Sr was an absolute JackHole.... but that made it all the sweeter when Jr could stick it to him!

Yes! And I was so glad when he did.

I need to make some caps of the scene where Andrew confronts him.

Andrew Barrington Snr ... "In business, never play martyr, always play to win."

That has stuck with me since the first time I saw this film .. and I am so glad that Andrew Jr. turns these words on Snr.

Oh and I really, really, really hope I am not going to offend anyone here, but this Snr. and Jr. thing that you have in the US ... "shrug" It sounds cute when Jr. is 10, but when he gets to 50, it's just plain silly. Just saying!

That's the point though .. why give your son your name and add Jr? Let him him be himself not your Jr!!!

Debs, I completely agree about Andrew Jr. and Sr. Sometimes the apple really does fall far away from the tree because he was nothing like his father... or his mother, for that matter.

I guess parents can be two things... either you have some who you can see as a good example and become like them in sort of a way, or you only want to be the complete oposit of them and run away

Thing I have the problem with in the US is (a) the arrogance of naming your son after yourself and (b) expecting Jr to live up to your expectations! It's putting a burden on a kid from the start to perform to your expectations.

I don't like the GMH III things either ... it ties you to everything about colonialism that you hated and why you got us out of the US!

what do you mean with that? I guess I have some history gaps

It was common in Germany too to name your kid after yourself... thank god our family didn't do that, although my sisters and brother do have names of realtives in their names.. only I don't have one in it. But it would be horrible if we had gotten the names of our mom or aunt
