For whatever reason it may be, Gale brings out either the best or worst in people. He just has this special something about him that people will either love or hate. And why anyone would want to hate it is just beyond my scope of reasoning. Maybe it is the fact that he's so private, and at times...so unreachable that certain individuals want to pick pick pick him and his life apart, being judgmental and overly critical. But it's his life, and I'm only concerned about how happy and healthy he is in it.

Oh, goodness hun, I soo totally agree. I don't think I fully understand why I feel the way I do about him but he is a very special person and I would want his life to be blessed with every happiness!

Although I don't really get people who dislike Brian either! I listened to Scott's radio interview with fanboy Doug (can't remember his surname) .. anyway Doug said that Bran was the person we "loved to hate" ... and I remember shouting at the laptop at the time!! Brian might be infuriating at times but "love to hate" .. no way!!

And "hate" is a horrible word anyway!

God there are some really s y sites out there

I've never read anything bad about him other than opinions on his acting. But that's the way of the world...we are all entitled to our opinions. Those types of comments I stop reading immediately. But about him personally, I've not seen.

Oh, I mentioned recently about the sites that I found before I discovered and that I was trawling because I couldn't get enough of QaF and all things linked to it! Although the sites have thankfully faded from memory some of the acidity of the comments hasn't!

Nowadays I rely on my to keep me posted on all things heavenly about g-g-g-gorgeous Gale !

But I also realise that those hateful sites are probably still out there!

That's very true. Not everyone has to like him, which I completely accept/understand. But I've seen some very nasty (vitriol-filled) ones that had nothing to do with his acting career whatsoever... on other sites. And these were quite personal attacks about his life in general.

Apologies if this has been discussed to death previously, but - what recent movie or TV roles are out there that you think Gale would have been perfect for?

He's tough to cast because he's not a classic sitcom actor (though I think he's very funny) -- he's not broad enough and at the same time, he doesn't have the rah-rah swagger to play the kind of roles a Tom Cruise gets.

I think he'd be a very good Batman, if they wanted to go sort of dark and introspective with it and I could see him in a quirky detective kind of role on a show like NCIS or Law and Order - someone who had a lot of interior demons but was outwardly very calm and aloof.

Any thoughts come to your minds?

Honestly, I think Gale is such an incredible talent that he'd be able to make any role credible. I haven't seen a huge amount of his work because it's not easy to come by over here, but in the films I have seen so far, he totally makes me believe in the character ... and not many actors can do that for me.

Usually if I'm watching a Cruise/Damon/DiCaprio/etc. film, I know that's just what I'm doing ... Gale makes me forget that I'm watching Gale Harold acting.

Doesn't really answer your question Mike but I'd be loath to pigeon-hole such a talent!

I can totally picture him in a role like that too! I'd love to see him in that kind of show I think he'd be (as he was!) pretty good in angsty roles, because he's very good at conveying emotions in silence... Now I'm picturing him in something like The Walking Dead... Wow, that would be awesome

At this point, I could see Gale directing…something behind the camera, since he's no comfortable in the spotlight right now. I'm happy that he and Shirley are working on their own project.

In a Secret Circle discussion, Gale was asked by a fan if he would like to do a comedic role (because he's naturally funny), and he said he would, but no one will cast him as such. I guess everyone sees him as a dark, introspective character.

Mike: We don't mind discussing anything about Gale, "to death".

P.S. Are you a fan of Gale? Or just a BK fan?

I am so p.o'd…I typed up an entire post, which was very detailed and my cat decided to jump up on my computer and deleted the entire content! Then control-Z didn't work. I am so pissed!

Honestly, I really believe Gale has the versatility to play whatever roles he chooses. He played both misunderstood bad boy and good natured good guy next door roles with such believability. I personally think he can immerse his mind. body, and soul into any role he that is given to him or that he picks as a choice. But that's a bit broad, so I'll narrow it down.

I'd love to see him in more lighthearted films, such as Falling For Grace. Or something with some mystery/angst to it. He probably would be great in something like Orphan Black.

I'd never heard of Orphan Black until Gale tweeted about it.

I hadn't either. So I went to check out a small clip of it for myself, and it looks very interesting. It's supposedly about mistaken identity.

Exactly. He really did an amazing job of bringing Brian Kinney to life and making him multi-dimensional due to his ability to act without actually saying anything. So any role that allowed him to do that would be ideal.

It would be tough for Gale to play a broad comic role - the sort of stuff Hal Sparks gets. (I was flipping through the channels the other day and came upon Hal on a Disney Channel tween show - he was perfectly cast for that sort of broad style of acting. It's called "Lab Rats" if you're taking notes...)

What is the project he and Shirley are working on? (And who is Shirley?) - to answer your question I thought he did an amazing job playing Brian Kinney and really shone in that role (witnessed by the fact that we are still discussing it 10 years later!) - I saw him briefly on Desperate Housewives and he was good, although the show itself was sort of silly.

The question stemmed from on off-board conversation on why he wasn't working as much as he probably should be and we were brainstorming what recent movies/TV shows he might have starred in and came up short.

It's funny about Orphan Black - I had never heard of it and then just the other day two people had mentioned to me that it was a great show and they thought I'd really like it - the new season is about to start on BBC America. Did not know that Gale had a public twitter, but I'll count his recommendation as a third vote for the show.

Shirley is a friend of Gale's and together they're working on a project called The Lock. Here is Shirley Petchprapa's website. Look around…she has some really cool ideas.

Shirley Petchprapa . Filmmaker . Director

Oh…Gale's twitter is not public.

His page is interesting... like an artsy encyclopedia of sorts.

It is private though. Which I can understand, because there are a lot of whack jobs on the net.

I watched the entire first season of Orphan Black, because people are so crazy about the show, but it didn't grab me. It's worth checking out though.

Happy Easter everyone!
