Oh, goodness hun, I soo totally agree. I don't think I fully understand why I feel the way I do about him but he is a very special person and I would want his life to be blessed with every happiness! Although I don't really get people who dislike Brian either! I listened to Scott's radio interview with fanboy Doug (can't remember his surname) .. anyway Doug said that Bran was the person we "loved to hate" ... and I remember shouting at the laptop at the time!! Brian might be infuriating at times but "love to hate" .. no way!! And "hate" is a horrible word anyway! God there are some really s y sites out there |

I've never read anything bad about him other than opinions on his acting. But that's the way of the world...we are all entitled to our opinions. Those types of comments I stop reading immediately. But about him personally, I've not seen.

Apologies if this has been discussed to death previously, but - what recent movie or TV roles are out there that you think Gale would have been perfect for?
He's tough to cast because he's not a classic sitcom actor (though I think he's very funny) -- he's not broad enough and at the same time, he doesn't have the rah-rah swagger to play the kind of roles a Tom Cruise gets. I think he'd be a very good Batman, if they wanted to go sort of dark and introspective with it and I could see him in a quirky detective kind of role on a show like NCIS or Law and Order - someone who had a lot of interior demons but was outwardly very calm and aloof. Any thoughts come to your minds? |

Honestly, I think Gale is such an incredible talent that he'd be able to make any role credible. I haven't seen a huge amount of his work because it's not easy to come by over here, but in the films I have seen so far, he totally makes me believe in the character ... and not many actors can do that for me.
Usually if I'm watching a Cruise/Damon/DiCaprio/etc. film, I know that's just what I'm doing ... Gale makes me forget that I'm watching Gale Harold acting. Doesn't really answer your question Mike but I'd be loath to pigeon-hole such a talent! |

At this point, I could see Gale directing…something behind the camera, since he's no comfortable in the spotlight right now. I'm happy that he and Shirley are working on their own project.
In a Secret Circle discussion, Gale was asked by a fan if he would like to do a comedic role (because he's naturally funny), and he said he would, but no one will cast him as such. I guess everyone sees him as a dark, introspective character. Mike: We don't mind discussing anything about Gale, "to death". P.S. Are you a fan of Gale? Or just a BK fan? I am so p.o'd…I typed up an entire post, which was very detailed and my cat decided to jump up on my computer and deleted the entire content! Then control-Z didn't work. I am so pissed! __________________

Honestly, I really believe Gale has the versatility to play whatever roles he chooses. He played both misunderstood bad boy and good natured good guy next door roles with such believability. I personally think he can immerse his mind. body, and soul into any role he that is given to him or that he picks as a choice. But that's a bit broad, so I'll narrow it down.
I'd love to see him in more lighthearted films, such as Falling For Grace. Or something with some mystery/angst to it. He probably would be great in something like Orphan Black. __________________

I'd never heard of Orphan Black until Gale tweeted about it.

It would be tough for Gale to play a broad comic role - the sort of stuff Hal Sparks gets. (I was flipping through the channels the other day and came upon Hal on a Disney Channel tween show - he was perfectly cast for that sort of broad style of acting. It's called "Lab Rats" if you're taking notes...) Quote:
The question stemmed from on off-board conversation on why he wasn't working as much as he probably should be and we were brainstorming what recent movies/TV shows he might have starred in and came up short. It's funny about Orphan Black - I had never heard of it and then just the other day two people had mentioned to me that it was a great show and they thought I'd really like it - the new season is about to start on BBC America. Did not know that Gale had a public twitter, but I'll count his recommendation as a third vote for the show. Last edited by MHampton; 04-18-2014 at 03:34 PM |

Shirley is a friend of Gale's and together they're working on a project called The Lock. Here is Shirley Petchprapa's website. Look around…she has some really cool ideas.
Shirley Petchprapa . Filmmaker . Director Oh…Gale's twitter is not public. __________________

His page is interesting... like an artsy encyclopedia of sorts.
It is private though. Which I can understand, because there are a lot of whack jobs on the net. __________________

I watched the entire first season of Orphan Black, because people are so crazy about the show, but it didn't grab me. It's worth checking out though.
Happy Easter everyone! |
