All of his scenes with Gus are so beautiful, their interaction always seems so natural and is so sweet. We always get to see a softer side of Brian when he's with his son.

I was so sad when he gave up his parental rights. He didn't really want to, but he did it because he thought it was what was best for his son.

what's really sad is that he never believed he could be a good father, at least in the first times after Gus was born. It took me a lot of times to feel like he wasn't that bad.

the fact that he said he was a crappy father in 117 just shows how insecure he was about being a good father which he was.

That says a lot about the damages his parents did to him. His childhood was so horrible that he believed it was better for Gus to be without him. I was really happy when he decided not to give up his parental rights at first. It was beautiful to see how he couldn't do it, it was obvious he loved Gus already, even though he didn't even want to.

His parents really were terrible parents

and yeah him not signing the parental rights at first was just evidence that he really loved Gus.
