Queer As Folk - Friendly message for our guests/Weekly postcounts

We know how intimidating it can be to come to a new board and see all these posters knowing each other and acting like a big family. Therefore we think that you might feel the same way when you come to the "Queer as Folk" board, and since we always love seeing new people here, we thought we could try to make you feel even more welcome by posting this thread, where all of us will post little messages to potential new posters. We don't wanna force anybody to post here, but maybe some of you just need a little push in the right direction?!

We can promise you that you won't regret it!

To start this new thread, we would like to ask every poster to please post something for the guests or lurkers. Something nice and encouraging maybe? Be creative!

Due to the restriction of the number of topped threads, we will combine this thread with another one about the monthly postcount. We haven't been in danger of closing for at least two years now, so please don't worry about it! We just felt it fair to let every poster here know where we stand when it comes to our postcount.

As you know, every board needs about 15 posts per day during every month to stay. Last month, we had about 78 posts and the months before, it averaged somewhere around 120 posts.

In this thread, we will post the weekly postcount we do ourselves every week of the month. We will start on the first of every month with the total postnumber and post an update on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. That way, all of you can see what is going on with our board. Sounds good? Yes? Okay, then let's just start this by posting our starting postcount, even though it is the 9th.

I just want to say that I was and still am a huge lurker. I've spent around a year and a half exclusively lurking over FF before I even joined and once I did join I spent quite a few months exclusively lurking over this board as well. Hell making 100 posts to get my icon seemed like a major problem back then

Obviously the times were different, this board was different, QaF was still on and all that. Once I did start posting here and once I did make myself a little piece of a home on the net over this board I just can't imagine not being here. Yes we might seem like a tight group. Honestly? You're absolutely right and we are close friends here. But we love talking to new people and we always try to make them feel welcomed. We're not an exclusive club so come and join us

Also that posts count makes me really sad... It's half of what we used to have over the past few months

I remember I used to lurk for quite awhile before joining FF and becoming a part of this board but once I delurked I was so glad I did because I've made some really great friendships here and Do and Kate are the best mods ever

and we would love it if you would join us to celebrate this show and the characters that make this show so wonderful

because it'll be the best thing that will ever happen to you, it has been for me

As much as I would love to have more QaF I think it's safe to assume that new season won't happen. It's been 2 years already and everybody moved onto new projects

It might be sad but I agree with Do

and I think it's better something good comes to an end before it might end up getting bad.

As for the lurkers. Come out! This is a wonderful place for everyone who's obsessed with QaF.

I always got attached to tv shows but I never experienced such an intensity like with QaF. It made me join a forum for the first time in my life. It was a German board and the tone was often very rough and unfriendly there

. So I started looking for an English speaking board and lucky me - I found it

(thank you google). I was actually a short time lurker because I needed just a few days to come to the conclusion that I would love posting here. So I became a member. This was exactly a year ago and I'm glad I met all these wonderful people.

Try it! Join our little community. We love new posters! Come out of the lurking closet and join the fun!

As for the postcounts. I'm sorry. I know I'm partly responsible because I stay away from the board sometimes. I promise I'll be around more often as soon as my Season 6 is finished.

for a long time already and it might seem as if I have lots and lots of experience with the boards here, but since every board is different, I can honestly say that it took me a while to finally post here. Actually, I was lurking a long time before and only started posting here shortly before the show was over. I won't lie, I was a bit scared at first, since I didn't know anybody here and just kinda jumped into cold water, but I've never regretted that step. Everyone was very nice right from the beginning and no matter who came freshly on board, they got accepted with open arms right away - from our lovely posters.

Now, as you can see, we did it and loved it, so I'm positive that all of you, our lovely guests, can do the same. Just try it!

Hey Rita!

Welcome!

Since I had only got caught up on QaF after it aired I think I only started posting here sometime before last summer in 06...I remember lurking for quite awhile, I watched QaF in April I believe and lurked here a lot...FF was my home, but the QaF board I had never posted at before and truthfully...I was scared to

I'm one of those shy people who get embaressed if they say something stupid (even if I'm on a message board) and at the time I had only watched every episode of QaF once so I didn't really think I was quite a fan as everyone else here..

The best thing I had ever done was stop lurking...because this board is the most friendliest board I've been to on FF! Everyone welcomes you with open arms! I have met some of the most amazing people here and I do not regret NOT posting! Sure, at first I felt left out, mainly because at the time I couldn't catch up with all the posts ..but the more I posted, the better it was and the more I grew to know these amazing people!

So here's what I have to say to the guests and the lurkers out there...if you are a Queer as Folk fan, girl or guy...STOP LURKING! because believe me, you'll thank me one day
