I think that breakup was indeed necessary, since it showed Brian once again what he is missing when Justin is not around, and he definitely was miserable - and everyone could see that and even commented on it, so I'd say it was pretty obvious. I would also say that he has changed a lot then, since he was willing to try to get Justin back - until the bombing happened.

Yes but I always wondered about Justin's reasons. I do understand him, but still he knew exactly how Brian was and that he'd probably never admit wanting to have family/husband...

You know, I'm not quite sure now...Did Justin ever really say what his actual reasons were? I've watched 5x07 yesterday and 5x08 today, but I can't remember him really saying anything.
 Sure, Brian said that it was a family and all that stuff, but something tells me that this wasn't the real reason for Justin, since he said himself that Brian won't give those things to him, so why did he leave then?! It doesn't make sense at all, IMO. That's one of the times I haven't understand Justin and his decisions at all...As a side note: We're always laughing about Brian calling Justin 'baby' in bad!fics, but in 5x07, he actually said 'dear'. __________________
