Yeah, so sad that Brian was not able to say anything to Justin although Justin gave him such big reassurance of his love. What more could Justin give him than saying you can do whatever you want and dont tell me anythi g, I will still be here....but Brian was not ready, his fear that he might not be loved anymore because of his illness overwhelmed him.

I am wondering what was Justin thinking Brian was doing? Because he had to create some ideas in his head. Why going to Ibiza to deal with some issues? It clearly was not for fun or sex, work does not seem probable, family issues also not....?

This is all so very true. He should have just told him what it was for, because he certainly wasn't engaging in any pleasures. In such a case, he would have asked Justin to come along with him, I believe that. Once again, Brian underestimates Justin's love for him and his own capacity to be loved/cared for.

Yeah, if he had just a it more faith in himself especially and that he is worth loving, the outcome could have been completely different. Its so hearbreaking that he thought so little of himself.

But what do you guys think was going in Justin' s head why Brian left? He already knew Brian for sometime so had to know Brian would not behave like this if he just went for vacation etc. And Brian even said to Justin after he came back that the matter has been dealt with so he hinted it was about something more. But dont you think it was strange Justin was not curious and did not need to know more of what really happend? Brian told him their are not married and are not obliged to tell each other anything and then Justin in the car told Brian he does not have to make up lies, but still....
yeah, i forget its just fiction, and in fiction anything is possible. Because in reallife I dont think any partner would accept to get almost no explanation.

It's true he didn't open up at all and tell him anything and it is something that we don't understand as much. He had opened up his loft, his socialising, his money (Justin had seen the bills and knew how much money he had been in debt and how much he was making and such), they called each other partner but he still couldn't go that final step to have Justin there when he really needed him . It's sad because when Justin does find out he shows how much he loves him and how mature he is by going there and making the soup and telling him I'm not leaving - this is love and commitment. He could've had that the whole time. But I guess he still needed to learn more about love and what it actually meant to him and to be in a relationship. Not just a friendship like with Michael.

*Side note - this is why season 5 annoys me a bit too because Brian is again still not ready to just be with Justin despite all his love and efforts he seems to go backwards in some ways gain while Justin keeps moving forward.

I think the reason for this was that Brian was suffering from inferiority complex, which is lack of selfworth, doubt and uncertainty about oneself, feeling of not measuring up to others and standard. It is often subconcious and people usually compensate for it by need for extreme achievements or asocial behaviour which in Brians case was his work and extreme promiscuity. There can be different causes for this but one of them is not receiving unconditional love during childhood
And if its developed in a person from his childhood, its very hard to get rid of it. Even if person conciouslly tries to be selfconfident, he falls into same patterns, because thats how he has positioned himself in the world and is unable to explain circumstances from any other perspective.
Positive experience can change that but its very sensitive and even the slightest doubt can send person back to his old patterns,
so thats where Brian founs himself. He was slowly overcoming it but it was not an easy task and took many steps forward and back again. Thanks to unconditionak love he received from Justin he made huge progress but there were other circumstances which made him fall back.

I'm pretty sure that Justin had thoughts about why Brian is going to .. and I'm also sure he was worried about him and suspecting it was somethig unpleasant, but maybe he accepted the white party and thought Brian had maybe lost a bet and had to meet someone there he didn't want to meet?

Thats good thought actually about losing the bet.
But what did you mean "he accepted the white party"?
I know Brian said he is going to Ibiza but I didnt know there was supposed to be white party there, did he mention it?

I'm really not sure about it, have to go and look it up, but I know he is telling him when he was back thjat everybody was dressed in white and didn't lie because the doctors all were wearing white..

Yeah, I remember this line about everyone being in white but as you said he was referring to doctors and from this line I dont think Justin deducted he want to a white party. He was telling it half asleep, even Justin seemed to know it was half imagination, esp.when he said he ****ed matador. I dont think another time he mentioned white party, but could be also wrong.

you know what I like - just watching them together I love the other characters but I could just watch their story by itself I think

I agree, I remember it clearly that even when I was watching the show first few times it was mainly story of Brian and Justin that filled me with most emotions and drove me through the show. And now also. I love other characters and their storylines also but there are somehow on second place, or I would say Brian and Justins story is most interesting, most intense. Others are of course as important in the show, irreplacable, many of the scenes, jokes, funny moments or even sad ones are unforgettable and would not be possible without them.

It'S almost the same with me.. The others are neccessary and I like them all, but I'm all caught up with B/J that's why I don't miss the others in fanfictions so much when they are neglected
