I also agree, I think his feelings towards Justin (the jealousy) after the KoB contest pushed him on a bit in the decision.

The KoB was part of ot but I think there were other situations before that made Brian notice how much he cares about Justin.

Oh yes I agree that there were plenty of other situations but jealousy can be such a strong feeling, especially in someone like Brian who was trying his hardest to deny his feelings for Justin.

I think Brian became aware he did care about Justin pretty soon, but I think it was only later in S1 that he realized that he was starting to have real romantic feelings for him.

I guess in a way it made sense for him because he never really experienced romantic love before, he kept convincing himself he doesn't believe in love and didn't to get emotionally involved with another person.

esp since he has grown emotionally and made progress through out the show as far as being 'in a relationship' and accepting the fact there is another significant other in his life. It's just that he had to fully embrace the idea. He had to realize that being in a commited relationship won't turn him into someone he's not.

Fortunately he finally took a chance on love in the end, before it was too late.

I guess he would have had that insight and would have taken a decision to make the first move towards Justin for once and let him know he's ready for a commited relationship evenually. The bombing sped things up

Obviously the bomb itself was horrible but the outcome of Brian finally embracing his feelings for Justin was the best thing ever.

I think his mind set about his relationship with Justin started to change after he had that convo with Lindsay about hanging on to the past and even after he confronted Micheal. But it took him more than that.
