I think Justin just voiced what Brian was thinking about Gus leaving.

I agree with Claudia and Steffi, I don't think Brian wanted to keep Gus in Pittsburgh because of Justin. Justin just put him in front of his own real feelings, once again, when instead Brian was trying to hide from them, again.

yep, the writers put in such a scene so the audience would suspect it's only brian's real feelings he's reacting off of, not justin's at all. seriously? no. there is a part of brian that is doing everything justin wants from 510 and on, which is fact.

Brian doesn't do anything he doesn't want to do.

so, then waving his parental rights in the end was what he really wanted?

I have to disagree Lexi. Some things he did because he thought Justin wanted them. Or at least he initiated them because of that. Like the wedding and a house, even though I think he got quite fond of the idea himself, ultimately. But I don't think the situation with Gus had anything to do with doing what Justin wanted

I think waiving his parental rights was because he wanted Gus to have two parents who could provide a loving home.

brian wasn't even considering saying no until justin said he'd miss gus and linds. why would the writers even shove that part in there if that weren't somehow true? i've always felt that brian says no because of justin, not because of himself... even if he wanted gus and linds to stay too. that moment goes against the nature of his character, honestly. although, michael's reaction is just as ooc.

I think Michaels reaction is far more ooc than Brians. Especially when you remember what had happened at the beginning of Season 5.

Brian always comes to this "I want to play Daddy"-point from time to time, it lasts just a few hours and then it's gone again for a few months. And I don't think this was all about Gus, I think Brian just wasn't ready for the changing, it was too much. And even though he wasn't there very often, it's a difference to have someone living a few minutes away or a few hours away. As he said, it wasn't only Gus he would loose. "I don't you to leave, Wendy."

So in the end... first it was Michael who - again - practically told him that he never had been a father to Gus and that this is the reason why he doesn't care, which was wrong, just as Justin figured out immideatly, because he saw how Brian was with Gus and so he told him that it's obvious.

I think Justin had a big influence on Brian and his "But Guy stays", but it don't think he did it to please Justin.

I guess so I do think what Justin said influenced Brian, but I also think it was something Brian wanted but didn't want to admit.

Brian still had some issues he needed to work on.

He probably will have issues to work on for the rest of his life. But if we think about where he started in S1, I think he did a lot of growing up and working on those issues during the 5 seasons of the show.

I guess he has come a long way since S1. Most of his journey was about facing his own insecurities and coming to terms with the fact it's okay to be more open about his feelings, and not run away from them. Most of that journey was obviously influenced by Justin's presence in Brian's life, but as Claudia pointed out before Brian Kinney wouldn't usually do something he doesn't want to do, so it was eventually his decision to have some changes in his life (not just on 513, but all through the show. )
As Manu pointed out that journey will never end, but I think it would be a bit easier if both Brian and Justin would be in it together.

I think a person can change if he/she wants to. But sometimes, you need something that makes you want to and I think Justin was that for Brian.
