after much thought, i've reconciled that brian was coyly telling justin that he knew he had something to do with the lawsuit being called off

I've often wondered this too. I can't tell if he's giving him that look because he's high/drunk or because he knows that Justin did that for him. I personally think he never found out and it was Brian just playing lush. I like that the writers leave it open to interpretation though.

i don't necessarily think brian knew exactly what justin did, but like after a year of back and forth in my mind, i can't help but believe brian assumed justin did something to help him... i mean, there was a definite shift in their relationship to me thereafter and a certain trust factor between them only seemed to be built upon... they sort of equally developed an "i'd do anything for you" mentality, but it was never something spoken about... it just happened, which was lovely in itself
