| the mention of prom makes me want to talk about the scarf... and since i just finished 202 im all in awe of it again... thoughts? i wonder what justin thought of the scarf when he saw it on brian in bed... obviously it was something good  __________________ don't forget the food! | |||

| it was obvious that he cared about him when he showed up at prom... he went on further to confirm it to jen... i think he wore it after the bashing to punish himself... to remember that bad things happen when you consider letting your guard down... i think the scarf is some what of an armor to brian after the fact... i mean it took justin so long to gain his trust and for brian to trust himself enough to let justin become a part of his life... and the moment all seems right, its not... the bashing was a rude awakening to say the least... to me the scarf is more of a warning symbol versus representing what brian feels __________________ don't forget the food! | |||

| I agree that it's a warning symbol, but I also think Brian needed it as a way of keeping Justin close even while he forbade himself to get too near to Justin while he was in hospital. So... I guess the way I see it is kind of a contradiction, he used the scarf to simultaneously keep Justin away and keep him near. The scarf also represents a kind of purity to me... the innocence of the prom scene as opposed to when B and J first met... the purity of J's blood... and all of that was broken in the bashing. | ica that he wanted justin near and using the scarf as a tool to feel that connection was really the only viable option he had... i mean obviously he could have went to see justin face to face and talked with him, but that wasnt ever going to happen... so that was the next best thing, but idk... tbh i find the whole thing kind of disturbing, but beautiful... lol, does that make sense? its like there is this hurricane of emtion going on within brian and really the only thing he has left to hang onto from that night is this scarf... there is nothing brian can say or do to fix what is broken... so he tortures himself day after day and even after justin is home... he just wears that night on him wherever he goes... but he wants to forget, so why do it in the first place?... sigh, regardless of the scarfs actual meaning im fond of the sl __________________ don't forget the food! | |||
