The fact that once they would cross the border into the United States and then wouldn't be considered legally married... that's what is sad and infuriating to me. Over here, the marriage would not be recognized, but I'm so happy they ignored that and made like they were. And they were married!

Luckily, though, they were married in spirit. That's what's MOST important. Man has no power over whether or not two people are united in that regard. I know just having that legal right to marriage is important, but they still were, even when the courts wouldn't acknowledge it.

I love that he gave them a party It was so thoughtful I thought . And considering he was never a fan of marriage it was great that he did He even joined in the dancing and everything and seemed really happy

I agree. Brian loved Michael and I really believe he loved Ben for loving Michael. He knew that Ben made him happy, even if he didn't believe in marriage for himself.

Yes, I think he did it because he wanted to support Michael in anything he chose for his future and what made him happy, even if he himself had different opinion. And he saw Michael is happy with Ben and knew Ben is good for him unlike David. Although later on he had conflict with Michael as a result of their different choices because he felt left out and was stuck in his midlife crisis (thanks to Cowlips illogical decisions).

Another problem between the characters and they way they are supposed to act.

They were lotmof inconsistencies in evolutiion of characters, sometimes they completely contradicted themselves but maybe in life its sometimes like that. Especially when trying to find the place in the society, among other people etc., its not always possible and maybe even not desired to be always only following hardcore own rules and opinions.

It's true you can change your mind and opinions and thoughts - I think the problem with QAF though, like we said, is the characters seem to change for the better and then go backwards again so far
